Big girl bed

March 14, 2018

As I mentioned last week, there have been some big changes for Samantha around here! After a looong construction process, we finally had Samantha’s “big girl” room to a place where she could move in! Even though we’ve been planning to move her for months, it happened quickly and I’m so glad I snapped these pictures 2 days before we moved her…

My sweet baby in her final days in her crib. Sniff sniff. I told my mom it was kind of sad to be packing up her crib after having one in my house for 7.5 years. She told me I could always have another! Yeah….I wasn’t quite THAT sad! ha!

Samantha is 3 years and 1 month and was more than ready for her big girl bed. She was so excited to be there and looks so cozy piled up in between all of those pillows…

She’s slept great. We’re working through leaving the hallway or bathroom light on, but overall I can’t complain at all. She sleeps all night, takes great naps, and absolutely loves her wonderful big girl room! I’m still waiting on a few things to come in and then will share all the pics!

Go Speed Racer!

March 8, 2018

Being a Tiger Scout, Maxwell got to participate in the Pinewood Derby for his troop.

scouts

He and Robert worked hard on the car – Maxwell painted every bit of it! He even free-handed that Alabama A on top and the numbers on the side!

We went to the derby on Tuesday night and it was great! They have a fancy digital track and it really was fun for the whole family. There were some pretty impressive looking cars too! The boys were pretty proud when they got their car weighed – it has to be 5 oz or less and Maxwell’s car “The Crimson Tide” weighed in at exactly 5 oz! Score!

derby

After dinner and plenty of goofing around by the scouts, the races started.

Even more excited when he won his second heat!

He lost his third heat – but pretty funny that he lost it to The Auburn Attacker! ha!

Everyone had fun and behaved so nicely – especially these two…

When it came time for awards, wouldn’t you know it – Maxwell won first place for the Tiger Scouts! Woohoo!!

I don’t know who was more proud – Maxwell or Robert (or maybe Daddo! ha!)

Christmas Parade

December 14, 2017

One of the fun parts of being a boy scout is that you get to march in the local Christmas parade and hand out candy! Luckily, it was a beautiful, warm afternoon – perfect parade weather! Maxwell looked sharp in his uniform…

and the parade spectators looked festive in their red and green!

We got to the parade nice and early to get a good spot and then started watching and waiting!

Finally the parade started and there were some cool floats…

But our favorite was definitely the scouts!!

Let it Snow!

December 12, 2017

After a full morning of snow fun, the kids took a little rest but then went straight back out that afternoon! Snowball fights, more snowmen, and the best time ever!

Look how deep the snow was!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

December 11, 2017

So, the forecast was calling for a light dusting of snow Friday morning. I didn’t pay that much attention to it and rolled my eyes a bit when they called on Thursday night to say school was delayed school until 10:00 the next morning. I got up and went to the gym early and a few flakes were falling from the sky. It was pretty and I knew the kids would like it. When I got home I ran outside to get a picture of the house in snow as I didn’t know how long the snow would last.

I took this at 6:45am…

snow

It started coming and didn’t stop! I then took this picture at 7:45am…

snow

It snowed all morning long! I took this picture at 10:45am…

snow

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! We ended up getting about 4.5 inches! The kids were obviously thrilled and couldn’t wait to get out and play in it. It was the perfect snow too – light and fluffy without much ice on the roads. Thankfully I had bought snow suits for the kids last year so we were all prepared! They geared up and headed out in to play!

I took about a million pictures of them building snowmen (4 in total!), playing with the neighborhood kids, throwing snowballs, and basically having the most fun ever. I’m just going to put all the pictures up so enjoy all these scenes from our fantastic snow day!

And that was just the morning fun! They went back out in the afternoon for more snow play! Don’t worry, I have pics of that too. πŸ™‚
