Time for your checkup!

February 27, 2019

Samantha had her 4 year checkup last week and is a healthy and happy girl! She is 41 inches tall and 40.6 lbs – both in the 90th%! At her 3 year checkup she was 37.5 inches and 35.6 pounds. She’s growing like a weed! A very tall and very strong weed!

Spencer at 4 was 41 and 1/4 inches tall (75-90th%) and 39.6 lbs (75-95th%).

Maxwell at 4 was 40 and 1/4 inches tall (75th – 95th%) and 33.2 lbs (50th – 75th%)

While she didn’t act up quite as bad as she did at her 3 year checkup, she still really does not like going to the doctor. There’s just something about Nurse Shelly that puts her in a bad mood…a mood that didn’t change even when Dr. Walley came in!

Ha! Look at that face! She’s just got a strong personality and I love every bit of it! So thankful for good doctor reports and my healthy, growing baby!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

Time for your checkup

November 16, 2018

I took both boys for their annual checkup yesterday and got confirmation that I have two strong, healthy, growing boys! Boys who unknowingly dressed like twinkies yesterday!  🙂

Maxwell is 50 inches tall (75th %) and 52.4 lbs (75th %). He’s a steadily growing! He’s always been right in that 50th – 75th % range but Dr. Walley said with this last growth spurt he’s pushed squarely into the 75th % range which is great! Hopefully he’ll continue on that trajectory. He grew 2.75 inches since last year and gained 5.4 lbs lbs. Good stuff!

Spencer is 46 inches tall and weighs 49.4 lbs (both 75th to 95th %). Again, he’s always been in that % and is growing just as he should!  Since last year he has has grown 2.75 inches and gained just over 5.8 lbs. Strong and steady!

For comparison, Maxwell at 6 was 45 and 1/4 inches tall (50-74th%) and 40.4 lbs (50th%). They could not be more different!  🙂

It was an easy visit with only a flu shot. We’re going to try and start weaning Spencer off of his Singulair and inhaler once winter hits. I would love for him not have to take daily meds.

And, because I like to do things like this, here are their yearly photos with Dr. Walley!

Pearly whites

March 16, 2018

We got our pearly whites cleaned! With movies to watch and iPads to play with, going to the dentist is pretty fun for these 3!

Everyone was so well behaved – no complaining all! And all 3 got a great report from the dentist (though we really need to be flossing. ugh). Hooray for great dentist reports!

Doctor Report

February 22, 2018

On Tuesday I took Samantha for her 3 year checkup. This should be the easy checkup – no shots, in and out, easy peasy. Samantha had other plans! I should have known I was in for trouble when she gave me this face before leaving….

tootie

Haha! Little Miss Tootie indeed!

The good news first – she’s growing like a weed! She is 37.5 inches tall and 35.6 lbs – both in the 75th – 95th %! Dr. Walley predicts she will be around 5’7! She’s grown 2.25 inches and gained 5 lbs since her two year checkup. My strong and healthy growing girl!

Maxwell at 3 years – 38 inches tall and 30.4 lbs – always my skinny mini

Spencer at 3 years – 38 inches tall and 36 lbs – almost the exact same as Samantha

Also, found a comment GJ made on one of those posts that said I was 37 inches tall and 33 lbs at age 3. Not much different than Samantha!

Now, not only is my girl healthy and strong – but she’s also strong willed and she decided to put that on display at the doctor. Everything was going fine – we even saw our friend’s newborn baby in the waiting room and Samantha was SO sweet with the baby.

Then Samantha needed to use the potty so I took her in and knew they would want her to pee in a cup so I told her we needed to do that. Well, she did NOT want to do that. I still stuck the cup down there and that just undid her. Meltdown. We then walked out of the bathroom and Nurse Shelly was waiting for us to step on the scale. For some reason, Samantha has never liked standing on the scale and today was no exception. She just kind of lost it and was crying and screaming “NO!” No matter what I tried, I could not get her to calm down or step on that darn scale for 3 seconds. I was almost in tears with her. We finally took a little break and went into the exam room where I finally got her to agree to get on the scale with a lot of loving, threatening, and ultimately bribing!

After she got weighed and measured, we waited for Dr. Walley while Samantha got to enjoy two packages of gummies (the bribe material!). She was so sweet for Dr. Walley and did great from then on out. That girl just does not like to pee in a cup or get weighed! Can’t blame her – I don’t like those two things either! ha!

By the end of the appointment, she was all smiles…

Please note the double fisting suckers (more bribe material!).

That night she was looking at my pictures and saw the one of Dr. Walley and said, “That guy is nice and sweet to me. The girl is not nice.” Ha! Poor Nurse Shelly….

Always an adventure with Little Miss Tootie. I wouldn’t change a thing…

She’s strong in body and mind and is going to do big things some day! I love her.
