We have some new tennis shoes….

We got our pearly whites cleaned! With movies to watch and iPads to play with, going to the dentist is pretty fun for these 3!
Everyone was so well behaved – no complaining all! And all 3 got a great report from the dentist (though we really need to be flossing. ugh). Hooray for great dentist reports!

On Tuesday I took Samantha for her 3 year checkup. This should be the easy checkup – no shots, in and out, easy peasy. Samantha had other plans! I should have known I was in for trouble when she gave me this face before leaving….
Haha! Little Miss Tootie indeed!
The good news first – she’s growing like a weed! She is 37.5 inches tall and 35.6 lbs – both in the 75th – 95th %! Dr. Walley predicts she will be around 5’7! She’s grown 2.25 inches and gained 5 lbs since her two year checkup. My strong and healthy growing girl!
Maxwell at 3 years – 38 inches tall and 30.4 lbs – always my skinny mini
Spencer at 3 years – 38 inches tall and 36 lbs – almost the exact same as Samantha
Also, found a comment GJ made on one of those posts that said I was 37 inches tall and 33 lbs at age 3. Not much different than Samantha!
Now, not only is my girl healthy and strong – but she’s also strong willed and she decided to put that on display at the doctor. Everything was going fine – we even saw our friend’s newborn baby in the waiting room and Samantha was SO sweet with the baby.
Then Samantha needed to use the potty so I took her in and knew they would want her to pee in a cup so I told her we needed to do that. Well, she did NOT want to do that. I still stuck the cup down there and that just undid her. Meltdown. We then walked out of the bathroom and Nurse Shelly was waiting for us to step on the scale. For some reason, Samantha has never liked standing on the scale and today was no exception. She just kind of lost it and was crying and screaming “NO!” No matter what I tried, I could not get her to calm down or step on that darn scale for 3 seconds. I was almost in tears with her. We finally took a little break and went into the exam room where I finally got her to agree to get on the scale with a lot of loving, threatening, and ultimately bribing!
After she got weighed and measured, we waited for Dr. Walley while Samantha got to enjoy two packages of gummies (the bribe material!). She was so sweet for Dr. Walley and did great from then on out. That girl just does not like to pee in a cup or get weighed! Can’t blame her – I don’t like those two things either! ha!
By the end of the appointment, she was all smiles…
Please note the double fisting suckers (more bribe material!).
That night she was looking at my pictures and saw the one of Dr. Walley and said, “That guy is nice and sweet to me. The girl is not nice.” Ha! Poor Nurse Shelly….
Always an adventure with Little Miss Tootie. I wouldn’t change a thing…
She’s strong in body and mind and is going to do big things some day! I love her.

I took both boys for their annual checkup last week and got great reports all around!
Maxwell is 47 1/4 inches tall (50th-75th %) and 47 lbs (50th %). He’s a steadily growing! He’s always been right in that 50th – 75th % range. He grew exactly 2 inches since last year and gained just under 7 lbs. Good stuff!
Spencer is 43 1/4 inches tall and weighs 43.6 lbs (both 75th to 95th %). Again, he’s always been in that % and is growing just as he should! Since last year he has has grown exactly 2 inches and gained 4 lbs. Strong and steady!
For comparison, Maxwell at 5 was 42 and 3/4 inches tall and weighed 36 lbs. He’s always been skinny! 🙂
In what was not my smartest move, I took Samantha with us so she could get her flu shot. I was trying to avoid another trip to the doctor with her but, man she was disruptive during the visit with Dr. Walley! She wanted to do everything except sit quietly! This picture hilariously sums it up…
But, we got it done and everyone got their flu shot. Spencer also had to get his 5 year shots which wasn’t fun. He’s a shot pro but he usually gets them in his arm. When he found out they were going into his leg, that just undid him! I had to hold him down while he was screaming his face off right into my ear. Good times. Thankfully no more shots like that for several years!
And, because I like to do things like this, here are their yearly photos with Dr. Walley!
3 year checkup…
4 year checkup…
5 year checkup…
and 6 year checkup!
See below for this year’s group pic!
Spencer at 2 year checkup (no Dr. Walley pic!)….
3 year checkup…
and 4 year checkup!
And this year! Spencer at 5, Maxwell at 7, and Samantha at 2.5
Always thankful for good doctor reports and healthy, growing kids!

Happy Monday! We went to the dentist last week and all 3 kids got great checkups!
I was super proud of all of them. There was no fussing, no complaining, no issues at all!
The movies on the ceiling help!
The dentist said Spencer’s injured tooth is still looking good and not loose at all. Yay! He said Samantha really should think about getting rid of her paci soon. Eek! He also said Maxwell probably won’t lose his first tooth for another 6 months or so (much to Maxwell’s dismay!).
Overall a great report! We love good dentist reports!
