Doc update and BOO again!

November 2, 2010

Maxwell had a pediatrician appointment Monday morning and everything looks great!  He’s up to 11 lbs, 15 oz (he was 10 lbs one month ago) and is between the 50th and 75th % in weight.  I really thought he was going to weigh a bit more because he seems so chunky to me!  He grew an inch and a quarter and is now 23.5 inches long which is in the 75th to 95th % for height!  Maybe we’ll have a tall guy after all!  His head grew .5 cm to 15.5 cm total circumference.  He had to get several shots which was NO fun but he actually handled them very well.  A little crying but it was over quickly.

Post shots and doing fine…

Sad right leg…

and sad left leg.

The doctor is very pleased with his progress.  He’s cooing, smiling and interacting right on schedule!  We did decide to put Maxwell on Zantac last week for reflux.  He seems to be doing much better now so, even though I was hesitant to put him on medicine, I’m very glad we decided to do it.  Our little guy is moving along!

I’ve got a few more fun Halloween pictures to share as well.

Our neighborhood does a great Halloween parade every year.  Unfortunately, Robert had to go out of town on Halloween but Maxwell and I hit up the parade anyway.  While he didn’t wear his monkey suit, he was still appropriately attired in his I ♥ My Mummy tee!  He was also being toted in in his new black and white sling and I thought we looked pretty festive with my orange shirt!

There are always tons of cute kids in costume at the parade and I had fun just taking pictures of the whole event.

The little basketball player was beyond cute and the goldfish cracked me up.  His older brother was the fisherman!

Some more scenes from the parade – floats, costumes and quite a crowd!

Fun, fun!

Doctor Update and Birthday Recap

October 6, 2010

Maxwell had another pediatrician appointment yesterday and things look good! He’s up to 10 lbs, 1 oz!! My little chubster! He’s grown to 22 and 1/4 inches and his head circumference is 15 cm. Growing boy! He’s still in 50th % for weight and 75th % for height. He did have to get a shot in his chubby little thigh which was no fun…for him or me! But, we survived and after a few tears (him, not me) we were happy again.

The fall weather has definitely arrived and yesterday morning was pretty brisk…just cold enough to need a “light wrap” as my grandmother, Susu, likes to say! Luckily, Maxwell just got this super cute sweater and cap in the mail that Susu knitted for him! It was the perfect thing for the chilly morning and he looked adorable for our big outing to the doctor. The nurse at the doctor’s office even commented on what a sweet little sweater it was! Thanks Susu…Maxwell loves it and it fits just perfect!

Here’s a picture of Susu with my mom from a few months ago…she’s the best. She’s also one of my most loyal daily blog readers! A very talented painter and sewer, Susu can whip up just about anything you want! I’m so lucky to have her as a grandmother and can’t wait for Maxwell to meet her…hopefully very, very soon! 🙂

In other news, when Robert got home from work last night we had a little family birthday party, just the 3 of us. First, the birthday boy spent some quality time with his baby boy…one of them was a little happier than the other!

We then had a good dinner, opened presents (he got a Kindle) and finished with cake! What more could anyone want for their 34th?

See you all tomorrow!

Doc update

September 14, 2010

Maxwell had his 2 week appointment with the pediatrician yesterday and he got an A+!  His weight is up to 7 lbs 15 ounces.  He was only 7 lbs at his appointment last Friday so that’s almost a whole pound in one week!  Growing boy!  He’s in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height.  The doctor says if he stays on that height track he’ll be around 6 ft. tall!  We’ll see!  He behaved so well for the doctor and only wailed for a few minutes when he had to get his heel pricked.

So pitiful with the giant band-aid on his heel…

He was happy and content again in no time though…

Roll Tide!

September 6, 2010

Happy one week Maxwell!

Maxwell had a doctor’s appointment on Friday of last week and got a good report.  He weighed 7 lbs even but the doctor feels confident he’ll be back up to his birth weight and beyond in no time.

As I’m sure many of you know, there was a little football game this past Saturday…

While we were in the hospital, Robert made a trip to the gift shop to make sure Maxwell had the appropriate attire for his first Alabama game!  Roll Tide!

He couldn’t wait to put on his outfit and watch the game…can’t you just see the excitement in his face?!  🙂

Robert quickly taught him to say ROOOOOOL TIDE!!

We were all ready for the big game!

Thank goodness it was a victory for the Tide over San Jose State!
