Day 5 started out with a call from the camp doctor. Not good. Poor Samantha was in the health hut with fever and a UTI. I’ll never know who felt worse that morning – me or Samantha! They got her antibiotics right away and she got to spend the day in the health hut watching movies. I spent the day worrying about my baby. Luckily the meds kicked in and she was feeling better by the evening and got to join her cabin for Carnival! I’m so glad she got to go but I can tell by her face that she wasn’t 100%…

Day 6 and she seemed to be back to her smiley self for the final full day of camp! Thank goodness!

Day 7 – pick up day!! Pickup was at 9:00 and I was there plenty early to get her trunk loaded up before we went to the cabins. They let us go up right at 9:00 and I’m pretty sure I was the first one up and she saw me and came running and it was the very best reunion!! Oh I missed her!

This little girl was as happy to see me as I was to see her.

Day 3 and we got a letter scanned from camp!

That night was the Evens/Odds night!

Samantha spent one week at Camp Greystone and she thought it was awesome! I was so impressed with all of Greystone’s communications and the twice a day picture upload! I got lots and lots of photos of my happy girl all week long. She did get homesick. I’m not surprised. But, she said it was just at rest time and at nighttime. I think she managed through it just fine!

Samantha was in Tentalow Lower 8 along with her friend, Kate. Her counselor’s name was Rhett and Samantha loved her.

Drop off day…

They had a little rain and chilly temps the first two days. It didn’t seem to slow them down though!

They celebrated Kate’s birthday the first night!

Day two…

They had a lip synch battle that night!

School got out on Wednesday, we packed her trunk on Thursday, and hit the road Friday to head to Camp Greystone! The boys stayed behind while Samantha and I made the drive to North Carolina for camp.

We spent the night in Asheville and went to dinner with some of her friends also heading to camp.

We all grabbed breakfast the next morning before caravanning to Greystone. I’m so glad we met up with friends. These girls were so excited and not nervous at all!

They had everything so organized and efficient! I gave her a final big hug and off she went!

I’m missing her already but know she’s having the best time!!
