Well, the first day of work came and went. On with the new normal!
Rub a dub dub, it’s a baby in the tub! When you have a chubby, cute baby like this, you simply HAVE to take the obligatory bathtub photos!

What a way to make a living. Today is the day. Back to work for me. 3 months went by way too fast. I’ve done it before so I know I can do it again, but I’m sad. I’m going to miss loving all day on my chubby, happy, easy-smiling Spencer. I’m going to miss getting to hear all of Maxwell’s new words, watching him process things, the conversations we have and just watching his little personality grow. I know they’re in great hands with Susan and I, thankfully, get to work from home but….still. It’s tough.
While my mind (or what’s left of it these days!) will be at work, my heart will be with these little guys…
I’m gonna miss them.
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it!
Friday! Sadly, this was my last week of maternity leave and I’m sad. Back to work on Monday. Luckily I got to soak up all sorts of fun with my boys this week. I didn’t even mind when Maxwell’s school was cancelled on Wednesday (well, delayed until 11:30 but considering he gets out at 1:00, what’s the point?!) because it meant I got to spend all day with him.
This week we hit up the park…
We got a “BIG cookie” as a reward for being such a great potty user…
and got to enjoy that cookie outside in the 70 degree weather in January!
I snuggled on this guy a lot…
and am loving his alert expressions!
Most of all, I just got to enjoy my boys – all 3 of them!

Happy Monday! We had a fun weekend that included a trip to the circus on Saturday! I hadn’t been to the circus in about 25 years and really wasn’t expecting much but, let me tell you, it was really cool! I was honestly AMAZED at what some of those people could do – the acrobats and the tight rope walkers. Unbelievable. It was quite the sensory overload – strobe lights, blaring music, action everywhere.
We only stayed until intermission (an hour and 15 minutes into the show) and we had had more than enough by that point. I think Maxwell had fun and got to see lots of elephants, tigers and even a human cannonball! Obviously, the things that interested me the most – like the trapeze artist, the tightrope walkers and the unicycling basketball players – didn’t hold his attention as well. He was having more fun playing with the light up toy we bought him! 🙂 $22 well spent!
There was a little excitement at the very beginning of the show. The had a group of about 8 horses come out to dance around the ring and do various tricks. Well, the lead horse went wild when it came out and actually bucked off it’s rider – a lady in a very bedazzled suit. She was knocked onto the ground into a ball and luckily didn’t get trampled. The horse darted out of the ring and, had we been on the front row, I would have been terrified. A bunch of handlers ran out from the back within half a second and got control of that horse and got backstage but, man, it was scary for a minute! Just thankful it wasn’t an elephant that went wild!
It was a fun morning and we’ll definitely go back next year!
