First, happy birthday to Maxwell and Spencer’s cool Uncle Keath this weekend! Hope it’s the best one yet!
Second, check out this little stinker.

Good thing he’s cute! 🙂

Oh, I could not love him more.

Have a great weekend!

One of Maxwell’s other favorite gifts from his birthday was his doctor kit. After playing fireman outside for a long time the day of his party, he decided to cool off by coming inside and giving everyone a checkup!

He would listen to our heart (or belly!), check blood pressure, look in our ears/nose/eyes, give a shot and then fix us up with a bandaid! Luckily everyone checked out as healthy!

Fireman by day, Doctor by night!

I leave you with this little diddy from Doc McStuffins…one of Maxwell’s faves!
Time for your checkup! Time for your checkup!
I’m gonna check your ears, check your eyes, find out how much you’ve grown.
Time for your checkup!
I’m gonna listen to your heart beat, fix you up, ready to go.
Time for your checkup!
It’s ok if you giggle. This will only tickle a little.

Dr. Maxwell on call!
As I mentioned yesterday, we went over to the elementary school field for a little soccer practice Sunday afternoon. I knew it was going to start well when I had to wake Maxwell up from from his nap at 5:00…

Don’t they both look excited?!

Even though Maxwell took a little while to warm up…

He eventually starting getting into it!

He was running fast! (don’t you just love to see those arms swinging Ms. Susan!) 🙂

Fancy footwork…

We’re still working on the “no hands” rule!

Both boys also loved watching Dad show off a time or two!

And as much fun as Spencey was having watching all the fun…

he really wanted to get in on the action!

So he did!

Spencey even got to play goalie!

ha! Looks like Maxwell had this next shot lined up perfectly to knock out his brother!

Luckily there were not shots to the head (or bottom!) in this game!

The first official practice/game is this weekend. We’re ready…I think! 🙂

Goal!!
We had a great weekend around here last weekend. It was one of those that definitely makes me think we live in Mayberry! On Friday we went for a little stroll…

We hit up the fire station, the elementary school playground…

and ended up in front of City Hall where Maxwell contemplated his chess moves…

He had fun playing “chest” as he said! 🙂

That night we went to, where else? the Mexaurant!

Saturday we got the treat of getting to see my college roommate, Kristin, and her cute family! She has two boys that were both born within 2 weeks of my boys…such a small world!
Spencer and Hayes had fun swinging…

and Maxwell and Lucas had fun playing!

It’s so fun to watch the boys grow up together. Here we are together August of last year right before Spencer and Hayes were here. And here we are in 2010 when Maxwell and Lucas were just a few months old! Love old friends!
That day they were also having a fundraiser in Crestline with all sorts of activities including a band that night. We took advantage of the “touch a truck” event that afternoon and Maxwell got to climb on and sit in all different types of trucks…

Saturday night we got a sitter and Robert and I had a great dinner out at Highlands Grill. Maxwell and Spencer had fun at home with Miss Abby! So happy Maxwell liked her and all went smoothly!
Sunday was church and a little soccer practice in the field…

Gotta get ready for the first game next weekend!
Mayberry, USA right here in Alabama! 🙂
I know it’s still 2013 but this time of year also feels like the beginning of a new year to me. End of summer, back to school, resuming of routines, my birthday (and now Maxwell, Spencer and Robert’s too!). I like it.

Today is an extra special new beginning as Robert starts a new job today. Congrats Robert! We’re know you’re going to do great!!

All 3 of us (in the best selfie ever! ha!) love you very much!

Here’s to new beginnings!
