The Spenceman

June 12, 2014

Spencey wears me out some times. That boy just goes and goes until he crashes…and melts down. Tuesday was a prime example. He just played until he was worn out and displayed some terrible twos a little early.  It didn’t help that we had to get him up from his nap early for the photographer to take pictures of his room.  And yesterday he had to miss his nap entirely because someone else was coming to see the house in the afternoon.  Yay for us! Boo for Spencey.  Still, even when he’s a bit cranky he’s still the funniest little thing around…

Chillin’…

Feeding himself some pizza with a big boy fork!

I’m going to choose not to talk about the way he acted when we left dinner and how I felt like I was carrying a cross between a squealing pig and a bunking bronco to the car and how he screamed the entire drive home louder than I’ve ever heard him scream. Nope, not gonna talk about that. But, I will share this picture which illustrates a bit of it.

Phew, he wears me out. And I could not love him one single bit more.  So, let’s end on a happy picture with his pretty blue eyes…

Much better.  My sweet baby boy.

It’s really happening!

June 11, 2014

So, this went up in our yard yesterday…

for sale

Eek! No turning back now! Within an hour of the sign going up, our agent got a call from another agent wanting to come do a “preview” for an out of town client.  And so it begins!  The photographer came and took pictures for the MLS yesterday as well.  Keeping the house spotless and completely tidy is going to be some work – not to mention having to get out of the house whenever someone wants to see it!  But, hopefully it will sell fast and we won’t have to worry about that very long.  And, of course, I have great helpers to assist in the tidying, inside and out…

Let’s just say 1 of those helpers is really useful…the other 2 not so much (but they sure are cute!).

Movin’ on over!

June 9, 2014

We kind of had an exciting couple of days around here. In the 36 hours that passed between Wednesday night and Friday at noon, we bought a house!  Yep, we bought a house. No, we weren’t really looking. Yes, we do love our current house. But this new one just had some things we simply couldn’t pass up.  Robert saw it on the MLS on Wednesday night and we thought it looked interesting (we’re always checking out local real estate – kind of a hobby to stay informed). I emailed the agent to see if I could see it and was inside the house at 9:00 Thursday morning. I called Robert and told him he needed to get over to see it too so we met the agent back over there at 11:30.  There was another offer on the table that they needed to respond to asap, so we had to move fast if we wanted it.  By 9:00 Thursday night, we made an offer and after one round of negotiation, the deal was done by noon on Friday and the house is ours (pending inspection, of course!)

We did not see this coming but here’s what the house provides – SPACE! 4 bedrooms, two offices, a playroom and a garage with attached mudroom. It’s almost brand new – completely rebuilt in 2012 so everything is updated. It’s 100% move in ready on the inside. The biggest draw to it is that it’s on a cul-de-sac with tons of families. It turns out that I even know the girl living next door! She went to college with me and has 3 kids so she gave me the full scoop on the street and it’s sounds like a GREAT place to ride bikes, play basketball and just be a kid.  Hooray!

Needless to say, we are SUPER excited about it…

The one downside to the house is the yard…and that is the one thing I’m going to miss about our current house (well, the yard and the location). We have a fantastic backyard here with so much room to run…but the flip side is that we live on a busy street so have no place for the kids to ride bikes, etc. The new house has great space to ride bikes, but does not have a great backyard…yet!  I have no doubt that Robert and I will get it fixed up and looking great!

Overall we really feel like we hit a hole in one!  🙂

(ps – check out the tongue! ha!)

Our summer just got a whole lot busier!

Flashback Friday

June 6, 2014

I’ve shown you some old baby photos before and how my brother looked like Maxwell.  I’ve also shown you my favorite picture of baby Robert and how much I think it looked like Maxwell, especially his hair.  Finally, here’s just a few more baby pictures of us. Well, got a couple more for you today…

This is a baby Ronnie and Robert… (thanks Jenny!)

Ronnie’s on the left and totally looks like Maxwell, I think!  Robert is on the right in all his squeezable, chubby glory just like Spencey!

And here’s another one of my brother, Keath, as a baby…

Whoever my boys do or don’t look like, one thing is for sure….
