Open House

October 13, 2014

Happy Monday!

Last week the boys’ school had their Open House night where we got go see their rooms and meet their teachers again. I basically do that every time I take them to school, but it was a treat for Robert to get to see it all. We stopped by Spencer’s room first and said “hi” to Ms. Alice and then headed over to Maxwell’s room with Ms. Kathy…

ms kathy

She’s the sweetest, nicest lady and I’m so thankful Maxwell has her for his teacher! Same goes for Ms. Alice too!

It was a fun night!

See you tomorrow!

Friday wrap up

October 10, 2014

Busy week around here! Robert was out of town for quite a bit of it but the boys and I had plenty to keep us occupied.

Their Thursday morning swim lesson was rescheduled for Monday afternoon so I got to take them and see them in water action! They were really ready to go after naps…

ha! And then really ready to go once we got to the pool…

Soccer game 3

October 9, 2014

The exciting season continues with soccer game 3!

I got smart this time (well, it was Robert’s idea) and took some toys for Spencer to play with.  It was actually pretty successful and kept him entertained at least some of the time…

While we hung out on the sidelines, Maxwell and Coach Robert were getting warmed up and running drills!

soccer

Pretty soon though, despite the toys, Spencer REALLY wanted to be on the field with the big kids!

soccer

Maxwell tried to get him off…

But he just grabbed his snack cup and went back out!

Please note how serious Maxwell is taking practice in that picture.  The Blue Team is hard core! Eventually Spencer got off the field and the team got a little pep talk before the game…

Then it was game time!

soccer

Pretty soon it was GOAL!!!!

and then another GOAL!!!!

When it was Maxwell’s turn to sit out, Spencer was a happy camper!

And when it was halftime and Spencer got to go out on the field, he was a VERY happy camper!

In the second half, Maxwell played hard…

had fun…

and scored two more GOALS!!!

All while Spencer did this on the sidelines…

All in all it was another great game!

With FOUR goals to make him proud!

Wilmington

October 8, 2014

As I mentioned earlier, Robert and I went out of town this past weekend…kid free!  whoa! We traveled to Wilmington, NC for the wedding of one of my good friends, Sara, from my Dallas days with Neiman Marcus.  It was a GORGEOUS weekend along the river and we had a blast. I loved getting to see some friends that I hadn’t seen in waaaaay too long!

NC

I laughed more on this trip than I have in a long time thanks to my always entertaining friend, Vicky. She’s the funniest and the best. And Nancy is one of my besties from college who now lives in San Fran so getting to be in the same city with her was a major treat.

NC

The wedding was beautiful and Sara was a gorgeous bride, of course!

Robert was a great sport despite this during the reception…

NC

Yep, that’s him checking the score of the second half of the AL v. Ole Miss game that did not end the way we wanted. He was a trooper though and put on a smile and still hit the dance floor with me!

He really is the best wedding date. I’m a lucky girl!

Meanwhile, back at home, the boys weren’t missing us at all because they got to spend the weekend with GJ.  They are lucky boys!

As much fun as the weekend away was, I sure was glad to get back home where I belong!

Birthday celebration

October 7, 2014

We celebrated Robert’s birthday on Thursday of last week before we went out of town.  I had two little birthday superheroes helping me get everything ready…

We made it a little festive for dinner…
