Happy as a pig in mud

September 17, 2018

Apparently it’s not only pigs that are happy in mud! We’ve been doing a big backyard project and one weekend there was a huge pile of dirt in the backyard. The kids wanted to play on it and I knew things were going to get dirty!

Yep. I told the kids they had to hose themselves off before going inside. Rookie mistake. They hosed themselves off alright – and hosed the dirt pile too!!

The dirt pile quickly became a mud slide and they thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Maxwell quickly bailed – he doesn’t like to get that dirty! But Spencer and Samantha were rolling around in it! They were having too much fun for me to care. It was hilarious!!

I have to admit – it looked pretty fun. I kinda wanted to hop in there too! ha! Nothing more fun than getting dirty!!

Back home

September 14, 2018

Of course, the only reason we got to go to London was thanks to GJ and Susan holding down the fort back home! They kept the kids fully entertained while we were gone and we cannot thank them enough!

School wasn’t back in session yet so they had full days to fill up. Susan took them to McWane…

they all went to dance together…

and they even got to go to Chuck E Cheese!

GJ got them over to flag football…

and hosted the best sleepover ever!

Not sure there was a lot of sleeping based on these sleepy faces in the morning!

She took them to a movie…

I’m not sure the kids missed us very much but, by the end, one little girl in particular was ready for her momma to get home…

I was ready to get home to her and her brothers too! A HUGE thank you to Susan, GJ and Daddo for holding down the fort!!

Have a great weekend!

Flag Football fun

September 10, 2018

We had Maxwell’s 8th birthday party this past weekend and it was a huge hit! My football crew was ready to go – cheerleader included!

flag football

Of course GJ was there and so were Susan and Barry!

football

He decided he wanted to have a flag football party so we got the coaches from one of the local elementary flag footballs organizations and they were SO awesome! We had about 36 (!!) boys and those coaches kept them completely organized, entertained, and in control! All of the boys met on the field and they divided into four groups and then rotated through different stations – throwing, kicking, running, accuracy.

Spencer was out there with all the big kids (and one other little brother!) and completely held his own!

Of course our cheerleader was keeping everyone entertained.

After doing all the stations they then broke up into two games – Spencer and Maxwell were playing against each other! ha!

After that it was time for cake!

Lake Life

September 7, 2018

Over the Labor Day weekend we were lucky enough to get to go to Lake Martin with some friends. They have 2 girls similar ages to our kids and everyone got along great. These are the same friends we went to the beach with last year! It was just the very best, most BEAUTIFUL weekend on the lake! Boating, tubing, catching minnows, swimming, floating, good time with friends…does not get better than that!! Lots of pics…
