When we went to pick up Maxwell from camp, we tacked on a few extra days in Highlands. It sure was nice to get some mountain air and cooler temps! We hiked and golfed and enjoyed the break!

We had another swim meet Tuesday night and it was another great night of swimming. The competition was pretty tough swimming against Pine Tree. I didn’t get any pics of Spencer as he was coming straight from a golf match and things were a little chaotic all night! But, I did get a cute pic of these three happy swimmers!

It was a beautiful night and not too hot and I was so proud of how hard my kids swam.

Spencer’s times…He got 3rd in his relay too and improved his butterfly time by 6 seconds!! Wow!
The fun surprise at the end of the night? Our general manager, Mark, jumped into the pool with all of his clothes on! ha!! The kids thought it was awesome!

The boys are doing PGA junior this summer where they get to play matches against other clubs. Maxwell got to play one before leaving for camp…
and Spencer has played two more since.
They are definitely enjoying it and it’s been great experience!
Over the river and through the woods to Susu’s house we went! Well, we really just went through the clouds but we got there! We haven’t been able to see Susu since Christmas of 2019 so it was a long overdue visit. GJ figured out a way to get to Arkansas so we did too. The kids and I flew through Atlanta and into Little Rock and then rented a car to drive to Augusta – all worth it!
Susu is 98.5 and honesty still doing great. She can’t remember what she had for lunch and sleeps a lot but she’s very pleasant and happy to see people when they visit. She’s still living in her own house which is remarkable and wonderful! I have so many memories in that house and it sure was nice to be back.

and hit up the Bulldog. Can’t beat it.
One other exciting moment of the trip – a celeb sighting! On our flight from Atlanta to Little Rock there was a man sitting in first class (which was hardly even a first class on the tiny flight) who stayed on the plane until everyone else got off. We were then standing in the jetway waiting for our bags because the flight was so tiny you had to gate check any roller bags. I was looking at the guy and just knew I knew him. No one else recognized him but my pop culture senses were tingling. Yep, Vanilla Ice. We made eye contact and he knew I knew. Too cold, too cold. I didn’t stop him or say anything and will forever regret not speaking up and asking him to stop, collaborate and listen to me and take a selfie. Ice ice baby. But, I got to see Susu, the only celeb that really matters in my book.
We were so glad we were able to make the trip!
