Time for your checkup!

September 26, 2014

Maxwell had his 4 year checkup yesterday with Dr. Walley and all looks great!  He’s 40.25 inches tall (75th – 95th%) and 33.2 lbs (50th – 75th%).  Here’s his 3 year stats. For comparison, Spencer weighs 30 lbs right now!  ha!  But, as Dr. Walley said, Maxwell has really slimmed out and is a long and lean little boy now, not a chubby toddler.  I can vouch for that as there’s not one ounce of fat on Maxwell!  We had to wait for just a bit but I loved getting to chat with my buddy…

and then we loved getting a good report from the doc.

He got the Flu-mist but thankfully no shots this time.  Hooray! Always thankful for good doctor reports!

Speaking of doctor reports, we got a peek at BB3 at the doctor a week ago.  It was my 20 week ultrasound but I was already 21 weeks.  The baby looks great and measured right at 21 weeks and 3 days.  Perfect!  All it’s parts are in place and growing – including some parts that we didn’t peek at!  🙂  Still going to wait until the end of January to know blue or pink!

And I know it’s hard to see but s/he is holding up a little #1 finger here!

Do you think it’s a girl trying to tell me she’s going to be the first baby GIRL Brown? There’s a chance!  🙂

In final doctor news, Spencer has no doctor news. Phew. Those hives are still lingering on his legs but are slowly going away. Hoping he stays away from the doctor until his 2 year checkup next month!

See you tomorrow!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

Secret’s out!

July 30, 2014

Maxwell is many things…

1. A talented artist (he creates almost entirely in orange marker):

Please note the hose and axes on the fire truck. And that’s the fire off to the right.

2. A brave fireman…

3. A handsome church date…

4. A total blabbermouth!

As I mentioned, we told Maxwell about the new baby this past weekend. He’s really come around to the idea and is pretty darn excited now, especially when he finally grasped the idea that the baby is ALREADY IN MY TUMMY.  What?! Anyway, he went to school on Monday and I guess decided he just had to spread the news. When I went to pick the boys up from school that day, Spencer’s teacher was the first to say, “So, Maxwell tells us he’s going to have a baby sister!”  ha! When I told her it was true (well, sister OR brother), the teachers all laughed and said they would need to apologize to him because they hadn’t believed him!  Then, the next day, Max’s mom texted me and said, “Max just told me that Maxwell announced to the class that he is getting another baby!” Ha!  When you’ve got good news, you’ve got to share I guess!  And, no, we don’t know that it’s a sister…but Maxwell has now decided that he wants a sister because “we already have a baby bruver.”  Makes sense to me!  🙂

I sure do love that little blabbermouth!

Monday

July 28, 2014

Happy Monday! Thanks for all the sweet comments on Friday. We’re pretty excited – and a little overwhelmed! – at the thought of a 3rd.  There’s lots of things you don’t think about in becoming a family of 5, like the need for a new car, how you put 3 kids to bed at the same time, how you make 3 kids fit into 2 bedrooms, and, as Granddaddy pointed out, how much harder it’s going to be to get a table at a restaurant from here on out!  🙂  All things I think we can manage just fine.  Well, the room thing might cause a bit of an issue…Maxwell doesn’t yet know that he’ll eventually be sharing a room with Spencer and I see no need to tell him until absolutely necessary!  I know they’ll end up loving it.

One thing I’m sure of, it’s going to be next to impossible to get all THREE smiling at the camera for a picture. It took me 2 days to get the pictures I put up on Friday of the boys in their “BIG Brother” tshirts.  Enjoy some outtakes…

Spencer was the most difficult model. Trying to get him to sit where you want him to sit and actually smile is just not going to happen at this age.

All the outtakes weren’t totally terrible…but that doesn’t mean they were exactly right either.

They are such sweet boys.

Of course, I also know that they’ll get to an age where they will happily smile for a picture…with a bribe of course!  🙂  When they all reach that age, I’ll end up with gems like these…

Also, we told Maxwell this weekend about the new baby. His immediate reaction?  “Noooo, I don’t want a new baby!!” followed by a few (fake) tears.  He came around pretty quickly though and decided a new baby could be alright as long as it’s another “bruver” and not a sister!  ha!  He also thinks we should name it Jelly! And, no, we’re not going to find out what it is…I think!  Surprise!

See you tomorrow!

The more the merrier

July 25, 2014

You know how you envision your life a certain way? Well, I always envisioned my life with 2 kids. Just 2.

Guess this is one of the few times I’ll admit I was wrong.  🙂

We’ll be a family of FIVE in late January! Bring on the chaos…it’s gonna be fun!
