Last weekend Robert and Maxwell loaded up their backpacks and headed out on a legit Boy Scout campout! This was no “car camping”, this was hike 3 miles in, pitch your tent, cook your dinner, sleep in the cold, and hike back the next morning! Whatever they needed, they had to carry!
Robert said they really had a great time. While it was chilly, it was pretty weather and they got to hike around Mt. Cheaha and enjoy the sites.
I think their camping food left a little to be desired but they survived and slept all warm and toasty in their sleeping bags with their hand and feet warmers!
I think they were hoping to earn another polar bear badge since it got down to 32, but apparently Boy Scouts is different than Cub Scouts and it has to get down to 19 degrees (!!) to earn that badge. No thank you!
Meanwhile, back at home, the Bobbseys and I had a lovely dinner in the warm club. My kind of night! 🙂
I’m proud of my campers and excited for them to go on more Boy Scout adventures!
