Hope you all had a great Halloween! Ours was super fun and ended up being pretty chilly! That didn’t stop my little Construction Worker and Mickey Mouse though!
Could they be any cuter?!
Maxwell had been SO excited for Halloween for the past 2 weeks so I’m super happy that it turned out to be such a fun night. As you might remember, he’s been a fireman both last year and the year before. He had been planning to be a fireman again basically since November 1 of last year. But, in the past 2 weeks he totally changed his tune and wanted to be a construction worker. I think maybe it had something to do with Robert and I always talking about the “work” and construction we’re going to do on the new house. I don’t know but I was happy for him to be whatever he wanted! You saw his costume on Wednesday night for Trunk or Treat…well, we made it a little more official with an orange shirt, some fluorescent gloves, an official badge (made one for Spencer too!)…
and, most importantly, real construction boots!
Halloween morning Maxwell said to me, “Momma, that other boy on Wednesday night that was dressed up like a construction worker had boots and I didn’t.” 🙁 Since I’m a good mom/sucker, I went over to Target and was VERY happy to see that last pair of boots in his size! woohoo! He was a very happy camper that night!
When Maxwell decided not to be a fireman, I thought this was a chance for Spencer to dress like something different too. Literally on Wednesday, I decided to make him into Mickey Mouse and quickly threw together what ended up being an adorable Mickey costume! (if I do say so myself!) We already had the ears so I just got some black leggings, black socks, black shirt and yellow Crocs. Then I cut some “buttons” out of foam and tacked them onto his red shorts. The bow tie was actually part of a little girl’s headband I found at Target. I was going to leave it on the elastic and put it around his neck but was afraid he’d never leave it on. GJ suggested sewing it onto the tshirt – genius. Add in the giant Mickey hands we already had and it was a perfect Mickey Mouse!
Of course, I couldn’t get Spencer to wear the Mickey hands or even the little white mittens I had found. Oh well – at least he wore the ears!
I was super pleased with how cute they both looked!
I think they were pretty happy too – even if they really didn’t want to let me take many pictures of them! 🙂
Once we were all dressed and ready to go, it was parade time! See you tomorrow with pictures!
