Happy Monday everyone! We had a fantastic weekend here. It was “chamber of commerce weather” as my father in law likes to say! Robert got some good yard work done on Saturday while I toted Maxwell around to a few shops to get him some spring clothes. The prospect of shopping excited him so much that he just fell asleep in his car seat for most of it. A win-win for all! Sunday we took a drive up to Huntsville to see most of Robert’s family. Maxwell got to meet his newest cousin, Andrew, who was in town from Virginia. It was a great day with all the kiddos together.
Maxwell did fantastic around so many people and was just as smiley as ever! Right before we were getting ready to leave (and 1.5 hours after his normal nap time!) we put all 6 of the kids on the couch together for a group photo and, despite the tired-ness, guess who still acted like a total ham?! Yep, my little dude was just smiling, laughing and having the best time with everyone! I love him so much. Unfortunately, getting a group photo of 6 kids is not exactly easy. I’m going to go on and show you all the ones I took because the expressions on everyone are priceless…
What a crew! As soon as you get one half of the couch smiling, the other half goes crazy. Gotta love it! Here’s one more of the two little bitties – they’re just 2 months apart and I can’t wait for them to grow up together!
And here’s an attempt at a shot of all the “kids”….we’re as hard to wrangle as the little ones apparently! I think we’re looking at 4 different cameras in this photo!
All of these pictures were just taken with my point and shoot. I took several more with my big camera that I’ll get up later this week.
We got home from Huntsville late Sunday afternoon and, thanks to the time change, still had some daylight left. That, combined with the 70 degree weather, meant one thing – a beer in the backyard. Robert, Maxwell and I had a great time enjoying the last bit of daylight together.
Notice: No babies were harmed in the taking of these photos!
I promise we didn’t even let his lips touch the bottle! But it sure does make me laugh!
One other thing (mainly just because I want to remember these sorts of things, but also because it’s cute) – At night, I always rock Maxwell for about 10 minutes before putting him to bed. I don’t rock him to sleep but just enough to calm him down. I also sing to him (You Are My Sunshine is the song of choice). Lately, as I’m singing he’s been reaching his sweet little hand up to touch my face…he puts his fingers over my lips, gently grabs my nose, and just runs his finger all over my face. It’s probably the best part of my day. Sigh.
Hope you all have a great Monday!
You do have a little ham – Momma has trained that cute little guy to smile for the camera! Looks liked it was a great week-end – much more fun than clearing out the Naples warehouse!
What a weekend! Shopping, family, and relaxing! What fun!
Great weather, great opportunity to see everyone and meet Mr. Andrew. What a sweet and handsome boy. He gets spoiled by his mom just like another little boy I know! Maxwell promises that the family does not drive him to drink. These photos were his father trying to be funny.
