Spencer’s football season wrapped up two weeks ago and what an awesome season it was! He worked so hard and earned a starting spot on that team and proved himself to be the first string cornerback over and over again. I was so proud of his hard work and persistance! Practices started all the way back in June in the heat…
and continued every afternoon once school started. At first Spencer worked out at the quarterback position but then it became evident that another boy had that positioned locked up so he pivoted, gave DB a try, and found the perfect spot for him – just like his big brother! He was an aggressive and reliable cornerback all season long. He made incredible tackles and played his position so well! Let’s go 38!
The season started with the Spartan Day scrimmage…
and continued through 8 or so games. The team did well but was also plagued by injuries – they lost their quarterback after game 3 and several other players were sidelines by halfway through the season. If they had been able to keep everyone in the game, I think they really could have had a winning season.
Spencer also got to be captain for a game…
Of course Spencer’s cheering section was there as much as they could be…
and we all enjoyed hanging with friends and going to Waldo’s for dinner after the games a lot! ha!
We were all sad to see it end but Spencer had a great last game including a fumble recovery! Woohoo!
What fun watching #38 shine! GSG!

Go Spencer! He gave it his all!
This kid is all in on everything he tries! Love watching him play!
Spencer plays hard and smart. Corner is difficult to play and requires quick decisions, he can do it!
Great season for a great young man!
