Pumped Up Kicks

As I mentioned on Monday, the boys got some new red kicks for school.  Maxwell went with the Sauconys again. I tried to talk him into some red New Balance that tie but he couldn’t be convinced. Fine with me, I think the Sauconys are cool.

Spencer’s fat foot was a little harder to fit! Unfortunately, Stride Rite no longer makes the red Elmo tennis shoes that Maxwell wore at this age (I loved those wide little shoes) so, I had to hunt for something new for Spencer. I was hopeful I had a winner with the red New Balance but the ones in his size were tie instead of velcro and, even though they were sized WIDE, they just didn’t fit like his grey New Balance. I literally ordered 10 different pairs of red tennis shoes from Zappos and tried them all on Spencer.  We finally found a winner in these by See Kai Run…

Adorable. I do wish they were leather instead of canvas since I think the canvas is going to get fairly dirty. But, beggars can’t be choosers and I’m happy for him to have some new red shoes for school!  Now we just can’t wait for the first day!!
