He’s growing leaps and bounds every day, communicating more and making life so fun. I must say, I’m going to miss it being just me and him in about 5 weeks. I know BBB#2 is going to be perfect as well but…Maxwell will always be my first baby.
I guess the only thing better than getting to love on Maxwell is getting to love on Maxwell AND his baby brother! 🙂
Does everyone know what today is? Oh yes, it’s GJ’s BIRTHDAY!!!! Happy Birthday GJ (or DD as Maxwell has been calling her lately)! No Aspen this year, but with all the traveling from FL to AL to AR you’ve been doing, something tells me you’re happy to just be at home today!
You’ve been carrying the weight of the world (well, at least the weight of most of our family!) on your shoulders and we want you to know how much we appreciate all that you do (really, really appreciate it!) and how much we LOVE you! I simply don’t know what we would do without you.

We had a great weekend! Beautiful weather with not much going on. Perfect! The only downside was a little inconvenience getting in and out of our driveway. The gas company has been working all up and down our street replacing a 50 year old gas line. They finally made it to the portion right in front of our house at the end of last week and while inconvenient for me, oh, what a treat for Maxwell! We had all sorts of “lallow tucks” in front of our house for 3 days straight! When I finished working on Friday, I looked outside and saw this…
Susan and Maxwell were having a ball watching all the action in their yellow hats with Maxwell’s yellow construction truck out there too! They were checking everything out and Maxwell was so interested in everything…
The construction workers were so nice and kept waving to Maxwell. Then, when they were about ready to call it quits for the day, one of them came over and asked if Maxwell would like to go sit in one of the trucks!! oh boy!! Susan volunteered to get in with him (thankfully! this pregnant momma wasn’t going to climb up into that truck!). I don’t know who was more excited…Maxwell or Susan! 🙂

More bounce house pictures from the weekend below but first, a school story.
Maxwell is in a small class this year with only 6 kids. He does great when I drop him off – he runs right in and waves at me and says “Bye bye mama!” with a smile. But, the past two times I dropped him off, two of the little boys in his class were NOT happy about being there. I mean, SCREAMING crying. When Maxwell saw them crying and all the chaos, he clung on to me and started to tear up. Not good. I’m going to try taking him a few minutes later because another teacher comes in at 9:10 and takes the criers out to a different room. But, knowing that might not always happen I also had a little chat with him about what to do when other kids in his class are crying. I told him that if they’re sad it doesn’t mean that he needs to cry too, but that he should give them a little hug and let them know it’s going to be ok.
Now, I have no idea if he actually understood what I told him BUT… When I went to pick him up yesterday, the teacher said that earlier that morning one of the little boys really didn’t want to make his craft and was throwing a little fit. She said that Maxwell went over to him and started showing him how to make it and then, when he was still upset, Maxwell knelt beside him and patted him on the back!!!!! She said she was melting and, my goodness, I would have too! My sweet, sweet boy. I have such a great kid and I just can’t believe how much I love him!
That sweet, sweet boy deserved some bouncing fun this past weekend so we happily obliged!
