Thanksgiving in the Mountains
On Thanksgiving morning, we loaded up and drove to Highlands, NC to spend the long weekend with Robert’s parents. It was a GORGEOUS weekend and we had a great time! We loved getting to bundle up in our coats but still feel the sunshine on our face. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving meal thanks to LuLu, a great dinner out with our good friends, Patrick and Liz, and even made a trip to a Mexaurant! All the kids slept better than I could have hoped. We hiked and ran around the golf course and even saw Santa Claus light up a giant Christmas tree! The only disappointing thing? No mountain lions were spotted…much to Maxwell’s dismay! 🙂
I took some new Christmas pjs for the kids to wear on Thanksgiving night. A good kick-off to the holiday season!
On Friday, we hiked up to the top of Sunset Rock with Patrick and Henry.
On Saturday night we went into town (Robert even left the tv halfway through he Iron Bowl! Shocker!) to meet up with the Woods to drink hot chocolate, sing Christmas carols, and watch Santa light up the tree right in the center of town! So neat and quaint! 🙂

It was a great Thanksgiving and I’m so THANKFUL we got to spend it in the mountains! Thanks for everything Lulu and Granddaddy!

10 months old
So, I know I said Thanksgiving recap was coming but you’ll have to wait a little longer because today we need to celebrate 10 months for Samantha!
She’s a JOY. Just a true treat. She’s such a happy little girl and is always so smiley and agreeable…well, except when she wants to be picked up. She does like to be held a lot but that’s quite alright with me! 🙂
She’s taking 2 naps a day – 9:00 and 1:00 – and goes to bed around 6:45 at night. She sleeps like a champ and always wakes up happy and just plays in her bed until someone comes to get her.
She’s nursing 4 times a day and eating real food at lunch and dinner. She’s a GREAT eater and will gobble up anything I give her. She has 2 teeth on the bottom now but, believe me, she doesn’t need many teeth to get that food in her belly! Favorites are baked apples, bananas, butternut squash and muffins and waffles. Yum!
She crawls everywhere and gets there fast! She’s pulling up to standing to check everything out. She’s not cruising around furniture yet but I’m sure she will be soon.
She belly laughs at her brothers and giggles when you pat her belly while changing her diaper. She loves loves bath time and will even stick her face in the water to blow bubbles! She says Da Da and Bye Bye but says Ma Ma more than anything! Music to my ears!
She’s a happy, sweet little girl and I am so, so, SO glad she’s mine. We love you Baby Mantha!!!

and the #1 thing I wanted from Samantha’s baptism photos was one to match. Well, that just didn’t happen. So, my fantastic photographer came out to the house about 2 weeks later and, in about 5 minutes, got these pictures…
