Chuck E. Cheese

July 20, 2017

We got to go to Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday for a birthday party! I was a little hesitant but, it was great! They no longer use tokens and you can play all the games by swiping a pre-loaded card. $$$$

Spencer has since said he wants to have his next party there! Sounds like as good a place to celebrate 5 as any! We’ll see!

on to Arkansas

July 19, 2017

After our fun Memphis stop, we headed on to Arkansas to see some family! Our first stop was in Augusta to give Susu a big hug!

Here we’ve got 6, 2, 4, and 94! Pretty impressive!

We then had lunch at the Bulldog…

and then hung out at Susu’s a little more…

while the boys played golf. My dad played for the first time in years! woohoo!

That night we all got together at John and Cara’s house in Searcy where the cousins loved getting to play…

and everyone loved getting to hold baby Bennett!

The next day was July 4th and, before heading out, we were treated to a fantastic magic show by the one and only Uncle John! The crowd was excited…

and the illusions were great! Everyone loved getting to participate too!  ๐Ÿ™‚

I even got cut in half! oh no!

Thankfully Uncle John was able to put me back together. Phew!

The crowd thought the whole show was awesome!

It was also awesome to see Granddaddy with almost all of his great grandkids! Just missing Nate, DeLaney, and baby Isaac. Granddaddy is 93 and holding strong!

We then checked out John’s plane…

It was a fun road trip with just enough adventure for all of us. A good way to spend the 4th of July weekend!

More Memphis

July 18, 2017

Day two in Memphis!

memphis

We grabbed some breakfast and popped into The Peabody…

peabody

Unfortunately the ducks only walk at 11:00 and 5:00 so we missed them. But the kids didn’t care because they got to go swimming at Lyndsay’s new house! woohoo! We had a great day seeing her new neighborhood, swimming, letting Phillip man his awesome grill for us, and just hanging out. The kids especially loved getting to climb into Lyndsay’s giant truck! ๐Ÿ™‚

They were worn out from all the fun…

but quickly perked up when we took them back to the Bass Pro to the Fish Bowl! They honestly had the best time bowling. Samantha could carry that heavy ball, Spencer loved using the “ramp”, and Maxwell would sling that ball sideways down the lane!

We even got a visit from Johnny and Jeanette! That night, my parents stayed in the hotel with the kids while we went out to Houston’s (yummmmm!) and had a great dinner with Lynds and PI.

The next morning, we grabbed a quick breakfast and one last hug from Lyndsay…

and then loaded up all of our Bass Pro purchases (you didn’t think the kids would leave empty handed, did you?!)…

and headed out for part 2 of our road trip adventure!

Memphis

July 17, 2017

Over the 4th of July weekend we all piled into the carย and took a little road trip to see the pyramids!

pyramid

Well, one pyramid…in Memphis…that’s also a giant Bass Pro and a hotel! We went to Memphis to see Lyndsay’s new house and stayed in the Big Cypress Lodge that is inside the Bass Pro. Yep, the hotel is inside the store and the balconies of the rooms overlook the store! It was really cool and the kids thought it was awesome obviously!

Our room was a giant suite and really, really nice! I did sort of feel like I was in Vegas though because there are no outside windows so you don’t know if it’s day or night!

memphis

We ended up eating there the first night because our babysitter had gotten delayed because of a little hospital stay!! Don’t worry, GJ is fine and they came on to Memphis the next day. But, since we had no sitters, the kids came to dinner with us and Lyndsay and Phillip at the restaurant on top of the pyramid – which you get to by riding the largest free-standing glass elevator in the world. The elevator was…well…like an elevator ride! But the views from the top were pretty great…wish I could say the same thing about our food.

By that night, everyone was worn out from our Bass Pro adventures!

More Memphis fun tomorrow!

Hannah in town

July 14, 2017

One of my favorite days of the summer – when Hannah and her family pass through town on their way to the beach! Just like last year, they got into town early evening and we had dinner, let the kids play, and stayed up too late catching up!

The kids couldn’t wait for our friends to get there!

Sadly Robert was out of town for their visit this year. We all missed him – especially Ryan who had to play baseball with the kids all by himself! ha! It was fun to see our growing crew of kids together…

These two little girls were cute together…with matching haircuts! ย ๐Ÿ™‚ Caroline was teaching Samantha some dance moves!

They packed up early in the morning to head on to the beach but I’m so glad they always make the effort to stop and visit! It’s the best!

hannah

Can’t wait for next summer’s visit!

Have a great weekend!
