What a fantastic spring baseball season for Maxwell! The Orioles were a special group of kids with an awesome coach and I am so incredibly proud of how well they all played this year. They hustled, had great attitudes, and ended the season in 2nd place overall for regular season play. We made it through the first round of the tournament in a nail biter game beating the Red Sox by 1 run in the bottom of the sixth. Unfortunately we got beat in the semi-finals and couldn’t pull out a tournament win like we did for the Mid-Season Tournament but that’s ok. This team played great and I wish we could do it all again!

Maxwell has been working on his hitting with a batting coach and is making great contact with the ball. In one of the tournament games he almost got it to the fence! I see homeruns in his future! He played first base all season and owned it! He can stretch his body out to catch that ball and keep his foot on the base!! He had a few double plays, fantastic catches, and got the game ball more than once! I just love love love to watch him play!

Other skills gained this baseball season? Learning to blow a bubble! ha! Maxwell would chew bubblegum every game and perfected this skill between innings!

The most fun of it all? Making new friends and getting to hang out with a great group of boys.

Of course, Spencer and Samantha had plenty of opportunities to watch him play too! ๐ ย They didn’t miss a game and are the very best baseball siblings!

Of course, the icees don’t hurt!

We had other visitors out to watch a game including Susan and Lulu…

I feel so fortunate that we got to play on this team with Coach Welden. I wish this team could stay together every year!

Go Orioles!! Also, please read this…

The sweetest…even if I was at all of those games too! ๐
It was a great season but all good things must come to an end…but not baseball! We’re on to play summer all stars! Go Spartans!
We got all science-y around here and grew some butterflies! I ordered this butterfly kit a while back and then finally ordered our caterpillars about 3 weeks ago. We had fun watching them grow from tiny caterpillars…

into cocoons and then into butterflies!

The boys thought it was cool to watch but Samantha was the most interested in it all. It was pretty fascinating! All of the butterflies managed to sneak out of their cocoons while no one was watching and it was fun to hear Samantha go into the kitchen and squeal with delight when she saw another butterfly had shown up! After several days we released them…

but they didn’t really want to go! Maxwell got them out and helped them along.

Samantha said she then saw a bird eat one of the butterflies. ha! I’m not sure if that is entirely true but, oh well…circle of life! A fun experiment!
Sunday best on a Tuesday!

Have a great day!

Notice how the boys both look nice in their pullovers and then Samantha has on…a Minnie Mouse t-shirt?! Oh yes. I forgot it was picture day. That is definitely not what I would have picked for picture day – or honestly, even for a regular school day – but it was just one of those mornings so, here she is, forever remembered in her Minnie Mouse shirt, rainbow shoes, and big ole smile! ย ๐
Love these sweet classes! Only 4 weeks left of school!
