NYC!

December 5, 2022

Last week we got up bright and early to catch the 6:30 am direct flight to NYC!

nyc

It was worth it to be in NY by 9:30! GJ took an early morning flight too and her plane got in 10 minutes after ours only 2 gates away! Perfect! We got all checked into the Mandarin Oriental…

and then hit the streets! First stop was the first apartment Robert and I lived in together right across the street from our hotel – 330 West 58th Street.

We then did little more shopping and Samantha got her first Brown Bag! πŸ™‚

That night we were worn out after our early morning. Maxwell and Robert headed to the east side for burgers at JG Mellon’s, GJ, Samantha and Spencer ordered room service, and I got my very favorite NY sushi delivered! Tenzan!

Oh, Christmas Tree

December 2, 2022

We got back into town from NY on Sunday late afternoon and had to do the most important thing! Get a tree! Just like the past few years, they had virtually no 10 foot trees left. We actually got the very last white tag one on the lot. Was it the best tree? Nope! But it was the biggest!

tree

We got it home and got it up. I started putting the lights on Monday night but didn’t have enough. Oh no! Got some more lights on Tuesday and got it fully lit up! Notice my crackerjack helpers…ha!

tree

Wednesday night I was ready to get the ornaments on and went to turn on the lights and …nothing came on. After much research, I discovered the bottom string of lights had gone bad. I took that string off, replaced it, and then everything worked again. Hooray! Lights working, ornaments up, ho ho ho!

tree

Also, she’s a leaner! Someone get this tree a V8!

tree

The fun didn’t end though. About an hour after we got it finished, the bottom lights all went out again. What?!

lights

It was a brand new string so I knew something else had to be going on. At GJ’s suggestion, we changed the fuse on that string of lights and, voila! Fully lit again! I now have that string plugged in to a separate outlet!

We’re glad to have it up and running! Oh, Christmas Tree!

This time last week we were living it up in NYC! Sitting curbside for the parade, watching the Rockettes kick away, and ice skating in Rockefeller Center! It was a magical trip and I took over 700 photos! I’m working my way through them but, for now, here’s a cute photo of some cute kids…

Make it a great day!

Roll Tide

November 29, 2022

Before Thanksgiving, Ronnie was able to get us box seats at the AL v. Austin Peay game so we took a trip down to Tuscaloosa!

Maxwell took Max, Samantha took Frances, and poor Spence couldn’t find anyone to take! All of his friends had basketball games that day. I guess we got lucky that his team had a bye that day! Of course we had to stop at the Supe Store on the way in!
