Of course, there’s plenty of fun back at camp when not paddling!

This year they had a dance with Camp Illahee! I can’t say Maxwell thought it was very fun but I’m sure it provided some entertainment. I do believe there was some square dancing!

I think they all had more fun when the girls left!

Maxwell is home from three weeks at Falling Creek and I think it was his best summer there yet. He had a great counselor, really liked all of the boys in his cabin, and got really into paddling! He went to camp this year with the goal of earning his hamlet. A hamlet signifies that you’ve done enough paddling in a canoe and passed all of the training needed to go out into white water in a kayak! I know that’s what Maxwell was working toward and I was so happy when I saw pictures of him in a kayak in week 3! He did it! Lots and lots of great pictures from three full weeks of fun!

It was back to walking in to drop off this year…I think Maxwell prefers the “drop and go” and I can’t way I disagree. But, I’ll never complain about getting to spend a few more minutes with this guy.
