Spencer and I picked up our Greystone girl on Friday morning and I got the biggest running jumping crying hug ever and it was the best! We missed her so much and I’m so glad she’s back – but I’m also so happy she got to experience camp. Going to the three week session ended up being the right decision – she said she was homesick the first week but then got over it and wasn’t sad at all the last two weeks. Hooray! I think staying that long at camp allowed her to work through the homesickness and then get into a routine and really have fun. She made some cute friends, did lots of activities and crafts, and gained some independence! I’m so proud of her and, most importantly, she’s proud of herself. Lots and lots of pics from the 3 weeks to share starting with day 1!
Cabin Tu7 with counselors Sarah and Ky’Aisa!
The girls in her cabin were: McCarty, Charlotte, Piper, Perry, Gianna, Dilly, Helen, Sloane, Eloise, Jane and Bitsy.
I figured out that Sloane is the daughter of one of my friends from Vandy! What a small world. It was even more fun when I saw the pics of Samantha and Sloane together the first full day of camp! They had tons of activities together and had fun together the whole session!
Samantha did all kinds of activities – I think her final schedule ended up being: MWF – Drama (they did the play Frozen), soccer, volleyball, tumbling, cooking, ceramics and crafts. TThS – drama, knitting, painting, sewing, archery, waterpark, and tennis.
Of course I loved seeing these tennis pics!!
Cabin lip synch! Nice beard Samantha! ha!
I got a lot of pics like this – smiling on her way to activities. I sure was glad to see that happy smile!
Action photos were hard to come by so these were especially awesome!
Another day another smile!
Knitting is fun! haha!
Happy girl!
Cooking!
Waterpark – I think one of her favorite things!
What a picture!
Talent show night. I didn’t get a picture but Samantha got up on stage and did a round off backhand spring!
See her back there waiting to go on? π
Cute girls…
Morning and evening flag ceremony…
and Vespers.
And that was just the first week! Lots more pics to come!
What a great experience and wonderful memories!
Love it and love having her home!
She will be more independent now. I thing camp make them develop in their own way. I know she is glad to be back, There is no place like home.
What fun! Great to go, but so happy to be home!
