Standing up

February 9, 2011

Hmmm…what should I be when I grow up?

Maybe I’ll play the violin and be a famous musician!

I’ll get standing ovations everywhere I go!

It’s going to be great to be famous!  I can’t wait to grow up!!

Maxwell, I can’t wait to see what you’re going to be when you grow up….I just want you to grow up really slowly!  🙂

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments

Mirror, Mirror

January 31, 2011

Mirror, mirror on the floor…could the cuteness really be any more?!

Maxwell got this new play mirror last week.  He had fun looking at the baby in front on him…I don’t think he knows it’s him yet.

These pictures also give you a good view of his bald spot…he’s rubbed all the hair off on the back of his head where he lays down.  It’s pretty funny.

And this picture shows you how his legs are ALWAYS moving…kick kick kick all day long!

And finally, this one just makes me laugh…what big eyes you have, Maxwell!  🙂

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  We actually went down to Montgomery to visit family and had a great time getting to see everyone.  Pictures coming soon.  We also loved getting to enjoy the 70 degree temps!!  Ready for spring!

All of the drool coming out of Maxwell’s mouth combined with the cold, dry winter air makes for some chapped little cheeks and a raw chin.  I do my best to keep it dry but when he’s constantly sucking on his hands, it’s impossible.  I find that this stuff helps a ton:

Boudreaux Baby Kisses

I rub it on his little cheeks and chin whenever it looks red.  Gotta keep these chubby cheeks kissable!!

Have a happy weekend!

Blog: 2010 in review

January 2, 2011

WordPress sent me this review of my blog for 2010 and I think it’s kind of interesting.  Pretty good numbers considering I only started this thing in July!  Apparently a lot of people look at it every day….but I don’t know who 2/3 of you are!  I know people like to check out blogs anonymously, but I’d LOVE to know who you are!  So, leave a comment, say hello…even if I don’t know you!  Happy 2011!

The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

One of my absolute most favorite, don’t know what I would have done without it, total best buy baby item is my sling.  Maxwell spends hours every day in the sling and he loves it.  He’s always calm in the sling just checking out the world around him as I walk around the house or outside.  We’ve taken lots of neighborhood walks with him in the sling and he naps better there than anywhere else.  I love having him right near me all the time and I know he likes it too!  The sling is also a great conversation starter.  We’ve walked to Starbucks many, many mornings with him in the sling and every time at least one person will comment on how neat it is and how they can’t believe there’s a tiny baby in there!  The barista calls it my “baby bag”!  🙂  Unfortunately, Maxwell isn’t quite as tiny now and he’s starting to get a little heavy!  But, the sling is great because I can just start carrying him in a different position once he can hold his head up and sit on his own.

I’ve done some reading and feel there are so many positives to “baby wearing” as some call it.  Here’s an interesting article from Dr. Sears discussing the benefits of slings:  Dr. Sears

I just love that Maxwell is content in there and I still have 2 hands free.  A win-win for all involved!

The sling I have is by Hotslings.  Unfortunately, the company is no longer producing new products but you can still find plenty on the internet.

I have these two prints:

Have a great weekend!
