Happy Friday! Make it a great weekend!
On Thanksgiving morning, we loaded up and drove to Highlands, NC to spend the long weekend with Robert’s parents. It was a GORGEOUS weekend and we had a great time! We loved getting to bundle up in our coats but still feel the sunshine on our face. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving meal thanks to LuLu, a great dinner out with our good friends, Patrick and Liz, and even made a trip to a Mexaurant! All the kids slept better than I could have hoped. We hiked and ran around the golf course and even saw Santa Claus light up a giant Christmas tree! The only disappointing thing? No mountain lions were spotted…much to Maxwell’s dismay! 🙂

I took some new Christmas pjs for the kids to wear on Thanksgiving night. A good kick-off to the holiday season!

On Friday, we hiked up to the top of Sunset Rock with Patrick and Henry.

On Saturday night we went into town (Robert even left the tv halfway through he Iron Bowl! Shocker!) to meet up with the Woods to drink hot chocolate, sing Christmas carols, and watch Santa light up the tree right in the center of town! So neat and quaint! 🙂

ps – that’s not the tree. 🙂
Here’s a few more pictures from the fun weekend.

It was a great Thanksgiving and I’m so THANKFUL we got to spend it in the mountains! Thanks for everything Lulu and Granddaddy!

See you tomorrow!
New York! The city so nice, they named it twice! and I got to go spend an awesome weekend in NY with some of my college besties. My friend, Kelly, is getting married in December and so a bunch of us decided to have a little bachelorette weekend in NYC to celebrate her. I loved loved loved getting to spend time with Lyndsay…

and so many other friends from Vanderbilt.

It was a PERFECT fall weekend – chilly and a little windy but plenty of sunshine.

I had quite the NY experience – I got coffee with Jason Biggs and Stanley Tucci and even had brunch with Mike Meyers!

See him back there? He was practically at our table. 🙂
We had a super fun night out on the town Saturday that included hilarious masks of Kelly’s groom’s face. Only in NY!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

The kiddos weren’t missing me one bit. Why would they when they had dad to take them to the tot lot and buy them cake pops for breakfast!

As I’ve said before, it’s great to get away but the best part is always coming back home.
When we weren’t at the beach or in the pool, we were playing with GJ, Daddo and the cousins!

We were so glad that Jen was able to come over with Nate and Delaney so all the kiddos could hang out. Love these silly willies…

Trying to get a picture of all 5 of them together was comical. We had them all lined up but Spencer was not a happy camper. Check out Nate’s face looking at him! ha!

Poor Spencey just wanted Baby Mantha sitting next to him.

So, he decided to scream about it. Please look at Delaney’s face! ha!

We then moved Samantha and everyone was happy…even if they were more interested in looking at the tv than my camera!

Then, miracle of miracles, we actually got a decent shot! Smiles all around!

Well, except for Samantha who kinda looks like a blob, but that’s ok. 🙂
After a fun filled week it was sadly time to say goodbye to Daddo…

and to GJ…

No matter how long we stay, every visit is too short. We’re ready to go back!

Thanks for everything GJ and Daddo! We love you!
We were down in Naples for 5 days and when we weren’t at the beach, we were in the pool!

Maxwell is definitely becoming a great swimmer. He’s getting so much better at taking a breath while swimming and can almost go the full length of the (long!) pool. He loves diving to to the bottom to pick up diving sticks and is always happy to show off his cannonball! Spencer is fearless. He can swim…but not long distances and can get himself into trouble very quickly. Too bad he doesn’t know that! ha! You have to watch him because he’ll just dive off those steps expecting someone to be there waiting for him. One thing is for sure, he loves loves loves the pool and would stay in there all day if we let him!
Samantha also got to take her first dip in the pool! Given how happy she is splashing in the bath every night, I was not surprised at all that she was just as happy splashing in the pool!

What a crew!
