For our final adventure on Sunday we went to St. Tropez. We took the ferry over and it was a lovely ride with views of the sailing regatta that was going on.

I’m glad we went to St. Tropez but, if I went back, I’d spend the day at a beach club lounging on a chair. The city was just more of the same of what we had seen all week so not that neat by that point in the week. We did have a good lunch at La Guerite!

And we did enjoy seeing the sights but I think we were all just ready to go home by this point.

The ferry ride back to Cannes was decidedly less pleasant than the ferry ride to St. Tropez. They said it was “rough seas” and they weren’t kidding! At least now I know I can be on a really rough ferry ride and not get seasick – many, many people that were around us cannot say the same! We were very glad to be back on solid land an hour and half later! We enjoyed one last night in Cannes…

and one last gelato! Perfection!

The next morning we all got up early to make the long trek home. 18 hours later I finally made it to this…

Talk about perfection! It was the most fun adventure and I am so glad I got to see and experience so many wonderful things but, as I’ve said before, the best part of going away is coming home.

Au revoir France! Merci beaucoup for all the memories!

We checked out of the Hotel Martinez on Friday and moved to an AirBNB which was fine…but I quickly realized I am more of a hotel girl! It didn’t matter though because we barely spent any time there at all. On Saturday we explored Cannes a bit more and started the day in the very best way – with this and a chocolate croissant!

and we found plenty of pretty sights to see!

We had plans to have lunch in Cannes at a Michelin starred restaurant but when we arrived they were closed for vacation despite our reservation! Oh, the French! It was the best thing that could have happened though because we ended up going to Antibes where we had lunch at Hotel du Cap at Eden Roc. This was easily my favorite part of the trip and going back to stay there is now on my bucket list!

After lunch we headed into Antibes to explore and check out the Picasso museum. The Picassos are on the 3rd floor in case you go and can’t find them like us! ha!

Like every other place we went, Antibes was ridiculously beautiful and charming.

We also saw some pretty impressive yachts including this one, the Katara…

which we looked up and found out is owned by the Emir of Qatar and goes for a cool $300M. Don’t see that every day!

It was another lovely day in the French Riviera!

We spent Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in meetings – but it wasn’t all work! On Wednesday we each got to pick an activity to do and I went on a catamaran ride!

It was a lovely adventure…except for when Kyle almost drowned for real. The currents in the Mediterranean are strong!

That night we had dinner at Chateau Castellaras. Talk about beautiful! The views were incredible!

Thursday was more meetings and then the big 50th Anniversary Gala in a hangar at the private airport in Cannes.

It was a super fun night with an awesome band that went to the early hours of the morning! I tried not to stay out too late because I had to give a presentation the next day but I still had more than my share of fun!

Thankfully the presentation went great! Phew!

All of the meetings wrapped up by Friday at lunch but we still had a few days to explore! More to come!

On Tuesday morning, we went to Cannes to stay for the week and met up with our other colleague, Kyle. We started with a walking tour which was a great way to get the lay of the land. We saw the famous steps from the film festival – which were blue at the time!

We then had lunch on the beach. Living right!

That night was the first company wide event and it was a beach party! Dinner and dancing by the water. Not bad! That’s my company’s name on that sign.

The RDs got together for a “meeting” first which was nice.

A fun start to the work festivities!

At the beginning of June, I got to take an incredible, once in a lifetime work trip to the French Riviera! My firm is celebrating 50 years and so they planned an all consultants meeting in Cannes to celebrate. Pretty nice work perk! I took advantage to travel around a bit with two of my colleagues and saw as much of the area as possible. I was gone a total of 9 days but everyone was just fine back home thanks to Robert, Susan, and GJ! I’m not sure they even missed me!

and ready to go! This hat went everywhere with me and I was so glad to have it!

I flew from Birmingham to Atlanta to Paris to Nice! Phew. I met up with my friend, Angela, in Nice when we arrived Sunday morning and we took the day walking all around the city, fighting jet lag, and enjoying the beautiful weather!

The next day we went to the Village of Eze which was incredible and one of my favorite parts of the trip. It’s basically a village built into the side of a mountain with succulent gardens on top and it was just beautiful.

We then hopped up to Monaco and toured the palace and also went to Monte Carlo where we saw lots of big boats, tons of fancy cars outside of the casino, and had a fantastic lunch sitting outside. Monaco was still pretty congested because they still had all of the stands up from the Grand Prix the week before.

We took the train back late that afternoon because we had a dinner in Nice that night with the San Fran office. It was a great kickoff to the trip. Lots and lots of walking! I think we clocked at least 8 miles every day! More to come tomorrow!
