After our soaking wet boat trip, we got cleaned up and had a good dinner at The Gulf that night.

Poor little sunburned blue eyed boy.

We got up Monday and hit the beach until it was time to leave.

Love finding these on my phone! ha!

It was a great beach trip all around!
On Sunday we rented a pontoon and tube for a boat day! We invited some friends to join us and had high hopes for a fun day on the water!

The weather had other plans for our boat day unfortunately! While the radar didn’t look that bad, every single pop up shower seemed to pop up right where we were! Each kid managed to get a turn on the tube though…

At one point we had to pull into an abandoned dock to take cover! We were wet but having fun!

We then headed toward Pirate’s Cove to get some lunch…

Spencer’s hat flew off into the water and Maxwell nicely jumped in to retrieve it. He was rewarded later!

We managed to finally get a boat parking spot right as another storm rolled in! Us and all the other people trying to escape the rain fought for a table inside. It was packed but we made the best of it. Overall not the boat day we wanted but an adventure nonetheless! This pic pretty much sums it up – drenched but happy!

On the pontoon! Party in slow motion, 0ut here in the open.
Mmmmmmm motorboatin’!
Over Memorial Day weekend we went down to Orange Beach for some fun and sun!

They were loving the big waves!

A little trouble when Robert tried to drop the football down from the 4th balcony and it bounced and landed on the balcony of the first floor condo and we couldn’t get it off! Oops!

Later that afternoon Samantha and I knocked on the door of that condo and…

success! The kids and I hung at the condo with pizza while Robert went to the Phish show that night (and Saturday night too! I’m glad he had fun!

The next morning we all got a Starbucks treat!

We then had another great day at the beach!

I do enjoy a beach day…on the beach not in the water! 🙂

We headed up the condo mid-day only to find out that despite being diligent with the sunscreen poor Spencer got totally sunburned. We need to be more careful! We took a sun break and went to The Gulf for lunch.

Samantha also got some cute new sunglasses!

Maxwell bought a kite!

I love these beach babies…

and they love the beach!
Last weekend Samantha, Maxwell, and I drove to Greenville, SC to take Maxwell to camp! The whole family was supposed to go but Spencer ended up having a baseball game so he and Robert had to stay home. This was my first time doing the drive on my own but it wasn’t bad at all – especially with Maxwell as my navigation assistant! The other hitch? I got a nail in my tire right before leaving! Uh oh!! Thankfully GJ’s car was still in Birmingham so we loaded that up and hit the road. We stopped for gas and somehow I got talked into these…

Why not?!
We hit the town that night with friends and tried a pizza place that was really good called Barley’s. There was also a sports bar next door with a huge arcade room for the kids so it was a win all around! It’s so pretty in downtown Greenville on the river walk.

Love this crazy crew!

That night I shared a bed with Samantha in the hotel and let’s just say it was not a quality night’s sleep! I was a little concerned about driving 5 hours the next day! But, we got up and going in time to make a Starbucks and McDonald’s stop on the way to Tuxedo, NC for drop off!

It was a quick drop off. No nerves from Maxwell at all and the only goodbye wave I got was from the counselor! ha!

I know he’s going to have the very best 3 weeks!
