Snowmass

April 5, 2023

We flew out to Aspen for spring break last week and spent 4 days zooming down the slopes of Snowmass! It was an awesome trip!! Best weather, best company, best time!

We landed and quickly realized we weren’t in Birmingham anymore when the 20 degree temp hit our face!

Our room wasn’t quite ready so we got some pizza and checked out the cute village.

Look at that icicle!

That afternoon we got all of our skis and gear and took it easy with room service. I love vacation! The next morning we bundled up to hit the slopes – the high for the day was 14!!

We got an instructor to go out with us the first day and that was a great call. He helped everyone get their ski legs back and showed up some good runs to take and gave us good tips for how to navigate the area.

It was SO SO SO cold but the snow was great! We handled it just fine…as long as the sun was shining! Nothing a little mid-morning hot chocolate break won’t fix!

The kids got right back into skiing and I was so impressed. We were all glad to have Patrick leading the way the first day.

When we got back, we braved the 11 degree temperature in our robe to get in the hot tub! Delightful!

NY day 2

March 10, 2023

We got up Saturday morning and hit up our first adventure – Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum! ha!! I have to say, it was actually awesome! There were 5 floors to walk through with all kinds of modern and historical figures. Samantha got a kick out of it and GJ and I enjoyed ourselves too! I have LOTS of pics but they’re so funny I want to share them all sooo….

At that point, we headed back to the hotel to rest up for the evening fun! We had dinner at Bond 45 right by our hotel and then went to see MJ the Musical!

show

We had front row seats which was both awesome and strange but the show was incredible!!

The most exciting part of the trip came when the show was over and GJ realized the lady sitting behind her had accidentally taken the wrong purse! The lady’s purse was left behind. Thankfully, after a worrisome 10 minutes, the couple came running back in looking for the right bag and it all worked out!

Overall it was a great girl’s trip! Let’s do it again soon!

The big apple

March 9, 2023

When GJ found out that Phantom of the Opera was closing in April after 35 years on Broadway, she decided she needed to go see it one last time! She nicely invited Samantha and I to tag along! Last Friday we got up super early and flew to NYC. We were in the city by 10 and at lunch at Sarahbeth’s in Tribeca by 11:30! Can’t beat that!!

I have to say, I was pretty happy too! It was really fun and playing in the all the slime was cool. Also, because I’m the best mom ever, I agreed to go under the Slime Falls with Samantha and get slimed!!

Miami Heat

January 18, 2023

While down in Naples, we took a little drive over to Ft. Lauderdale to eat at Houston’s! Totally worth the trip to get that spinach dip…

Well, maybe that wasn’t the only reason we went! We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale and took the Brightline train into Miami to go to the Heat v. Lakers game!

Of course Spence had to get some swag…

and we all were pretty excited to see Lebron!

The boys were also excited to see Jimmy Butler and Russell Westbrook. It was a fun game and the Heat ran away with the win!

Naples

January 17, 2023

After Christmas we headed down to Naples for some rest, relaxation and sunshine! Despite a delayed flight out of Bham, we made it to Ft. Myers with no problems mainly thanks to a full speed sprint through the Atlanta airport! Phew! The kids were happy to get to open some more Christmas gifts…especially when those gifts consisted of cleverly wrapped cold hard cash!

Leave it to GJ – she’s the best!

We didn’t get to to go to the beach while we were down there. It’s still being put back together after the hurricane, but that didn’t bother us!

Gary the Gator even came by to say hi!

We did enjoy some dinners out…

and tried some new foods!

But consumed lots of chicken fingers and fries too! ha! We also did a little shopping…

and made cookies, of course.

As always, the trip was too short and we can’t wait to go back!

See you again soon GJ!
