Bahamas Day 3

September 13, 2023

We woke up on Sunday and it was raining and a bit dreary. Robert and I got breakfast while the kids lounged in bed. I just couldn’t accept the fact that we traveled all the way to the Bahamas to see the turquoise water and snorkel and weren’t going to even get to go into the ocean! I started googling and found a boat tour company that would take us out that day! Hooray!! I had no idea what we were getting into and if it was a smart idea or if the ride was going to be miserable but…we had to give it a try.

Captain Ryan with Bahama Boat Tours could not have been nicer and it turned into the very best excursion! All of the winds and rough waters were on the north side of the island. He kept us on the south side and it was totally fine!

He knew of a good place to snorkel so we all jumped in and saw lots of colorful fish in the reef!

We then got back in the boat which Samantha could not get enough of! Living her best life for sure!

This cool kid was doing alright too…

We then docked and walked up over his hill and weren’t quite sure what we were walking to…

But then we saw this and knew it was going to be awesome!

Bahamas day 2

September 12, 2023

We woke up Saturday happy to be in the Bahamas! What were not happy about is the fact that our original boat charter had been cancelled due to windy conditions. We luckily found another one that said they could take us out that afternoon so we took our time getting breakfast…

and then spent some time at the pool. The beach had red flags so we couldn’t even put our feet in the ocean. Not to worry, the awesome pool kept us plenty entertained!

Unfortunately, midday we got a call that our second boat had also been cancelled because of rough water conditions. Such a bummer. We made the most of it though. We did venture down to the water and barely got our feet in before being told to get out!

We then let the kids head into the water park for a while on their own…

Let’s just say we didn’t win big!

We then met back up with the kids and they got a little treat!

We didn’t have dinner plans that night since we were supposed to be out on the boat, but Robert made a friend in the pool and we ended up getting their reservation to the fancy chinese restaurant, Shuang Ba, that they weren’t going to use. Before dinner pics…

Shuang Ba was excellent and quite a dining adventure for the kids!

They tried all kinds of new things – I was so proud of them! Maxwell got some lobster, everyone had potstickers and dumplings, and Robert even ordered the restaurant’s specialty – Peking Duck!

Some were a little more excited about it than others…

hahaha! Spencer ended up trying it and liking it! I even ate some of the duck and must admit that it was delicious! Overall it was an excellent meal that I’m glad we got to experience. After dinner we thought we’d make a quick bet on black…

No luck. But that’s ok, our day was lucky enough just being in the Bahamas!

Bahamas

September 11, 2023

Over Labor Day weekend we took a little trip down to the Bahamas! So fun!! We drove over to Atlanta Thursday night after Maxwell’s football game and took a morning flight from Atlanta to Nassau. We were at the Rosewood in Baha Mar by lunchtime! Our room wasn’t ready yet so we starting exploring the massive Baha Mar resort…lots to see!

It didn’t take long to get our swimsuits on and hit up the water park! So may fun slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river!

We then got all cleaned up for a fantastic dinner at Costa, the mexican restaurant at the Rosewood.

One of the best parts of our quick trip to Kansas City? Getting to see one of my oldest friends in the airport for a quick hug!

Are you ready for it?

July 14, 2023

Sometimes you just have to say “yes” and we did just that last weekend! We were talking about how much fun we had at Taylor Swift in Atlanta and how much fun it would be to go again and we decided just to go again! We cooked up this plan on Thursday night, got a ticket hookup through Lyndsay, booked some flights, got a hotel room and a driver to take us to the show and we were on our way Saturday morning! Now, that makes it all sound very easy and it wasn’t quite that easy but…it was all worth it!

I think we had the most fun on Thursday night and Friday just getting ready for the adventure! Making bracelets, running around town for an outfit..getting excited!

Off we went very early Saturday morning!

swift

We stayed downtown Kansas City and I can’t say there is much to do down there but we did take a trip to Flavortown and had lunch at Guy Fieri’s taco joint.

The library was cool!

I’d say we ended up with some perfect outfits thanks to Target (no surprise there!). We were ready!

target

I was very thankful we were able to find a driver to take us to and from Arrowhead Stadium. The traffic getting into the stadium was terrible and it took us an hour and a half to get from out hotel to the stadium – normally a 12 minute drive!

swift

swift

After our 5am ET wake up call, this little car nap in the traffic was needed!

swift

But we finally made it and we were so excited to be there!

swift

Our seats were awesome and a totally different view than what we had in Atlanta which was great.

swift

Lots of bracelet trading…we had some good ones to give out! Most so good that Samantha didn’t want to give them out! πŸ™‚

swift

Some in our party appreciated certain sights more than others – Patrick Mahomes and the Lombardi Trophy! Go Chiefs!

swift

swift

We screamed and danced and sang until (almost) the last song! We ducked out a little early just as she was starting Karma so we could beat the crowd out and get to our car. That was the right decision with my tired crew. It was another epic show and I loved getting to see it again with my favorite people!!! I’m a Swiftie for life now!

swift

It has most definitely not been a cruel summer!
