Tonsils

Samantha had her tonsils out last Tuesday and all went well.

Recovery was pretty “by the books”…she felt better by about day 3 and then took a turn around and stayed pretty miserable until about day 8. We managed it all with round the clock Tylenol/Motrin and some of the prescription pain meds at night when needed. Of course, ice cream and popsicles helped too!

She finally went back to school on Wednesday of this week and seems to be almost back to normal – just with a squeaky voice!

We are very glad to have it all behind us and to be rid of those “big yucky tonsils”!!

Naples

February 20, 2024

Samantha felt well enough on Friday to hop on a plane and fly down to Florida for the long weekend. The kids had an Eday on Friday and no school Monday so we were glad to be able to visit GJ for a few days. We flew into Tampa because it was easier and had a good lunch at Nordstrom before fighting the traffic back to Naples. Saturday was a perfect beach day and we were thankful for the pretty weather!

Sunday was not a perfect beach day. Lots of rain but that was fine with us. We finished Eday work, saw a movie, played Uno, dominos and Bananagrams and just hung out. We like to just hang out! We headed back Monday out of Tampa…

and made it back in time for an orthodontist appointment. Hooray!

Samantha is definitely still in recovery mode but I’m glad we were able to get away for the weekend!

Valentine’s Day

First, yesterday went well and Samantha’s big yucky tonsils – and adenoids! – are gone! She’s pitiful but recovering. I think a day full of hearts and love – and maybe some ice cream too! – will make her feel better!

She took her Valentines to school on Monday and they were Taylor Swift themed, of course!
