We were up bright and early the day after the dance recital for Field Day! All of the 5th grade girls came to our house for donuts and flair…
More Field Day tomorrow!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
Samantha had her dance recital last week on Thursday night and I’m trying not to be sad that that is very likely her last recital ever! Dance is coming to an end and I sure am going to miss getting to see her smile on stage every year! She went out with a bang though…a neon green bang!
I was very proud of my bun again…her thick hair is a lot to manage but I think it was our best one yet!
Samantha also wanted some dramatic eye makeup and I think I did pretty good on that too!
My pretty, pretty girl!
Her class was not performing until the 3rd to last act of the second half of the show so we decided we had plenty of time to go to dinner before hand! What fun!
We arrived to the theater fashionably late yet right on time!
The girls nailed their performance! I sure do love watching my little star shine on that stage!!
Another great showcase! So proud of this group of girls and especially proud of my favorite girl!
Of course she deserved a little treat after that stellar performance….
Love my star!!
The 5th grade had a science fair this year! Samantha chose a lava lamp project and we conducted the experiment at home varying the levels of oil and water mixed with Alka Seltzer tablets…
We then got to go up to school to the Science Fair! Samantha did an excellent job on her board and explained her experiment very well!
Smart science girls!
This past weekend Samantha got asked to play up with a team a year older for a tournament in Nashville. Thankfully two of her buddies got asked to play as well so that made it a no-brainer! She got home from Alpine at 1:00 and we were on the road by 4:00 for Nashville. No rest for the weary! She was tired but we made it and were ready for the 9am game Saturday!
Samantha played AWESOME and scored three goals in the two games on Saturday! Woohoo! Of course, the most fun of soccer tournaments is the shopping in between games. ha! We headed to Cool Springs mall between games 1 and 2 for lunch…at the Cheesecake Factory (!)…and some squishy shopping.
We stayed in Brentwood and all of the games were in Franklin but after game 2, we headed into Nashville for some really good shopping at Green Hills Mall and dinner at Green Hills Grille! Can’t beat that! We had another morning game on Sunday and it was quite the match up…
No, that is not an optical illusion! She was tough…
But Samantha was tough too and dribbled around her many times! I was so proud of her! The girls ended up tying one game, winning one game, and losing one game. Samantha was a bit of a sore loser after game 3. “Can I take your picture?” Samantha – “no”. Jane – “You can take my picture!” haha!
Don’t worry, she came around!
Really proud of these girls. We then headed back home…but not without stopping to try Swig first!
Love adventures with my best girl!
