My best girl…day and night!

Love her!
We’ve had some fun nights out this summer! While Spencer was at McCallie, the rest of us tried out the new-ish Little Betty…

it did not disappoint! Our after dinner selfies on the other hand….

This one’s not so bad!

When Spencer was back he got to have a fun night out for Henry’s bday at the hibachi place…

while Robert and I tried out the new Current Charcoal Grill in town. Another excellent meal even if they did get our entree order wrong twice!

Of course there’s been a few girls dinners in there too…

No one wants to cook in the summer!
Last week we made it out for a day at the lake with Ms. Susan and Mr. Barry! It was the most perfect day and we had so much fun!!

Barry was so kind to pull these kiddos around and around and around the lake on the tubes…

and skis! Yes, both boys got up on skis! I was so proud of them!

It really was a beautiful day with the most perfect temps!

This darn flamingo gave us fits all day…

but, don’t worry, Samantha and I finally conquered it!

Barry grilled out some hot dogs for dinner and then we tried our luck at fishing!

We weren’t having much luck with the minnows so stuck some hot dogs on the end of the lines and….success!

Samantha caught a catfish!

It was the BEST day with the BEST people! Thank you for an epic day on the lake Susan and Barry!
They got to do all kinds of fun activities while at McCallie including going white water rafting (Spencer said it was COLD!), and a track meet and swim meet…

They also went to play paintball…

They also had a dance with a girl’s camp! Spencer even made it on the girl’s camp social media! π Of course he found the girl in the AL jersey!

The most fun is that they got to go to a Braves game on the 4th of July!

It was a great two weeks of sports for Spence!

We were all ready to see him by pick up day! He and Maxwell hadn’t seen each other in 5 weeks at that point! The gang was back together!!

I missed my buddy!

They had a nice closing ceremony where Spencer got the VIP award for soccer (!). Harvard came in second place in the Ivy League narrowly missing 1st by only 4 points. Go Harvard and Go Spencer!

I’m so happy they all got to have fun summer adventures but I’m thankful to have everyone back together again.

So much to catch up on – Maxwell’s 3 weeks at Falling Creek, Spencer’s 2 weeks at McCallie – but today we’ve got some festive pics from Independence Day! This was our first 4th of July in Birmingham since 2019! We definitely missed fireworks at GJ’s but it was fun to have a pool day and hang out with friends!

Dad is always the fun one in the pool!

and Maxwell tapped out early in the hot dog eating contest – thank goodness!

That night after grilling some burgers at our house, we went over to watch the Vulcan fireworks with some friends. They were neat but, as Daddo said, once you’ve seen the fireworks at Disney World, everything else pales in comparison!

Of course, this little firecracker is all we need for some excitement! ha!

Happy Independence Day!
