A little trouble when Robert tried to drop the football down from the 4th balcony and it bounced and landed on the balcony of the first floor condo and we couldn’t get it off! Oops!

Later that afternoon Samantha and I knocked on the door of that condo and…

We headed up the condo mid-day only to find out that despite being diligent with the sunscreen poor Spencer got totally sunburned. We need to be more careful! We took a sun break and went to The Gulf for lunch.

Samantha also got some cute new sunglasses!

Off to FCC

June 10, 2022

Last weekend Samantha, Maxwell, and I drove to Greenville, SC to take Maxwell to camp! The whole family was supposed to go but Spencer ended up having a baseball game so he and Robert had to stay home. This was my first time doing the drive on my own but it wasn’t bad at all – especially with Maxwell as my navigation assistant! The other  hitch? I got a nail in my tire right before leaving! Uh oh!! Thankfully GJ’s car was still in Birmingham so we loaded that up and hit the road. We stopped for gas and somehow I got talked into these…

Why not?!

We hit the town that night with friends and tried a pizza place that was really good called Barley’s. There was also a sports bar next door with a huge arcade room for the kids so it was a win all around! It’s so pretty in downtown Greenville on the river walk.

That night I shared a bed with Samantha in the hotel and let’s just say it was not a quality night’s sleep! I was a little concerned about driving 5 hours the next day! But, we got up and going in time to make a Starbucks and McDonald’s stop on the way to Tuxedo, NC for drop off!

It was a quick drop off. No nerves from Maxwell at all and the only goodbye wave I got was from the counselor! ha!

I know he’s going to have the very best 3 weeks!

Jones’ Jaguars

May 31, 2022

One of the best parts of the last week of school? Field Day!! This year was extra big, extra over the top, and extra fun! I helped organize Spencer and Samantha’s classes and they all looked great. Samantha’s class was Jones’ Jaguars! Roar!

When no other mom stepped up to spearhead Field Day for the class, I took charge – which also meant Samantha got to pick the class color! Was there any question which color she would pick?! I also made a sign for them to carry onto the field and we had her class over to the house the that morning before school to get ready. I had Krispy Kremes and muffins and they all got decked out!

They were pretty excited when they got onto the field!! Samantha’s competitive streak came out and she was taking those games pretty seriously. I love to see it!!

My favorite part of that picture are the pitiful neon girls in the background. Too funny!

Mrs. Jones’ class came in 3rd of 5 classes. They didn’t win the spirit award or the “Shield of Destiny” so it’s hard to win overall without winning either those because they give you 20 extra points. I personally think they were robbed but…no one asked me! ha! They were all pretty excited with 3rd though and, most importantly, they all had a really fun day!!

Go Jones’ Jaguars!!
