Maxwell’s earning merit badges right and left. He earned two in one a few weeks ago at a merit badge day!
He made this nice toolbox in woodworking that day!
This group is working on the Family Life badge.
Proud of him.

Not only has Maxwell been camping out a lot but he’s been earning merit badges and doing service hours.
These boys did a nice job cleaning up the nature trail at school to earn some hours!
Maxwell and two other scouts from his troop completed one part of the hiking merit badge in December by going on a 20 mile hike!! Whoa!! It took them about 12 hours but they did it! Very, very proud of this accomplishment. That’s hiking a marathon!
In November they had Court of Honor where Maxwell was recognized for earning several merit badges and Tenderfoot rank.
Not only is Maxwell involved in scouts, but I am now as well! Yep, I’m the new Scout Mom. Well, my official title is “Troop Chairman” and it’s turning out to be quite a job! I love it though…anything for my favorite 12 year old. I’m so proud of him!
Maxwell is going full force in Boy Scouts now. He earned Tenderfoot and has now completed everything for Second Class and will complete First class very soon! He’s gone on lots of campouts too. The Cahaba River campout in August…
The Ocoee River in September…
Sipsey in October…
And Scout Mountain just last weekend!
Lots of time outside and Maxwell is loving it!
Spencer and Robert almost earned another polar bear badge on their cub scout campout at Oak Mountain last weekend! It was cooooold but they made it!
Well, Spencer barely made it. He had started coughing pretty bad on Friday night and just didn’t seem like himself when they left Saturday. By the time they got back Sunday, he really wasn’t feeling himself. He spiked a fever of 103 and I was pretty sure he had the flu. I took him to urgent care because I wanted him to get Tamiflu within the first 48 hours of being sick. Well, urgent care did a flu test and it was negative! Even the doctor was shocked and said he looked “flu-y” but she wouldn’t give me Tamiflu. Boo.
I took him to the pediatrician first thing Monday and, yep! Positive flu test. Got Tamiflu a day later than I would have liked. He was pretty miserable Monday and Tuesday but really turned the corner on Wednesday and went back to school Thursday.
Fingers crossed no one else gets the flu! We have big Thanksgiving plans!
Our Tuesdays are turning into our busiest day! This week after school on Tuesday we had golf…
soccer…
A football game (they lost)…
and another football game (they won!)…
and scouts!
We can pack a lot in between 3:00 and 8:00!
