As I mentioned in November, Maxwell and his robotics team earned a bid to the state competition at Auburn. It was over President’s Day weekend and turned out to be a really cool experience! We made a full weekend out of it and stayed at Lake Martin with friends whose son was also competing at the competition.
The boys got up and headed to Auburn bright and early Saturday morning.

Thomas, Maxwell, Ms. Beidleman, Walker, Jack, and Ms. Mapes!

The girls and Spencer came a bit later. We watched the matches but also managed to get out for some lunch and sunshine. It was a beautiful day!

What a crew!

It was a long day for the boys inside the coliseum. It was a full day of matches with lots of sound effects, jokes from the announcers, and plenty of sitting around. But, the event was extremely well run and efficient! No surprise there.

The spectators did managed to get outside and enjoy the sunshine between matches.

All that sitting and watching was definitely made better by cotton candy!

The merch was pretty funny too…

And some of my favorites of the announcer jokes…
“What was the robot’s favorite dance? The roomba!” hahaha!
“You’d think french fries came from France, but no. They came from grease!” hahaha!
Maxwell and his team didn’t make it to the finals but they had a great day. They learned a lot, had some really good matches driving their robot, and took in the full experience. I’m so proud of them!

The school was pretty proud of them too!

Maxwell is excited to do it again next year and try to qualify for worlds!
Wednesday was Grandfriends day up at school and the kids had the very best around to visit them! They all had to wear their school shirts…look at my cute twinkies!

They had both Lulu and Granddaddy as well as Susan visit their classrooms! Awesome!! I was volunteering and didn’t get any pics but Susan snapped two selfies…

and Spencer’s teacher got a cute picture!

I think everyone had fun seeing the classrooms, meeting friends and teachers, and getting a glimpse into the kids’ day. That’s more than they’ve even let the parents do this year!
I also had to pick the kids up a little early that day and caught this of the Bobbseys walking down the hall. Doesn’t get much cuter!

Love my cuties and thankful for all the “grandfriends” that love them so well!
I think my little loves had a great Valentine’s Day! They were spoiled with cards and money from grandparents and Susan that morning…

and spoiled by me that afternoon!

A 6 pack of their favorite drink, a football and a headband and a few treats! ❤️

They all had a great day at school with their Valentine parties!

I sure to love these happy little Valentines!

Happy Valentine’s Day! The kids all have parties up at school today and took in their Valentine boxes and cards last week. Samantha and I worked so hard on her box and it turned out FANTASTIC! We bought the Narwhal parts off of Etsy and had fun covering the box (well I did that part!) and decorating it!

Maxwell didn’t have to make a box but he wanted to and made a cool Gorilla Tag one. Nice job!

Spencer isn’t really into this sort of thing and luckily his box from last year – that Maxwell made most of – was still around so he was more than happy to just re-use it! Perfect!

Samantha used these cute Valentine cards with Fun Dip…

and the boys both re-used the cool Alabama valentine cards with their favorite candy!

Hope it’s a LOVEly day today!
