Back to school!!
The kids headed out yesterday morning for 6th grade…
4th grade…
and 2nd grade! (in purple of course!)
It’s their last first day all together at MBE. I’m going to soak up watching them all walk to school together one last year!
Thankfully they all had a great day and were all smiles when they came home! Thumbs up from all (including Maxwell who was off with his friends at Gilchrist!)
School days, school days!
Today is the day! Back to school! We loved summer and sure are sad to see it go but we all thrive on routine and schedule and I know it will be a great year. Yesterday was a fun and full day! Samantha was at the school early and got to see some friends…
and be a mentor for a new girl in her grade.
Maxwell held court with his minions all day on the corner selling lemonade and cookies! That boy takes advantage of an opportunity!
Everyone got to meet their teacher. It’s totally not cool for a 6th grader to take a picture with his teacher but a 4th grader will still oblige (begrudgingly)….
and a 2nd grader will do it happily!!
As for me? I was PTOing really hard all day! From 7:30 to 2:30! Everything got done and everything went great. More to come on the PTO efforts but needless to say, it would not have gotten done nearly as well had my trusty assistant, GJ, not been in town to help!!
A great day all around and I know today will be the same! Back to school!!

Samantha’s class on the last day with Mr. Aaron who is leaving! He’s been the Assistant Principal for years and is now going to be the Principal at one of the other MB elementary schools. We are really going to miss him!

A great year!
Maxwell’s class came up with their own idea and decided to be a sort of rabid football team – Rogers’ Rabid Raiders! They all dressed up as football players, cheerleaders, or referees and Miss Rogers was the coach. They even had a lion mascot!
Maxwell’s class met in GJ’s yard to get ready. I had plenty of Krispy Kremes for them too!

Miss Rogers’ class won the Spirit Award!! That’s the award for best costumes, flair and enthusiasm! Woohoo! They came in 2nd place overall. What a fun day!
All of these kids had a super fun day and I’m so grateful they all had fantastic teachers that went all out with them! Miss Rogers was an especially good sport!

Field Day is the best!
Spencer’s class did it up right for Field Day too! They all voted on their theme and decided to be Campbell’s Colorful Cobras and even tie-dyed their own shirts at school! We then added some tie dye socks and rubber snakes and they were set! I also had his class over before school for breakfast and made a sign for his class to carry as well.
I wish we had gotten all the kids a wig like Whitt’s! ha!
I adored Spencer’s teacher this year, Miss Campbell. She was the best!

The colorful cobras ended up winning the Shield of Destiny! That’s the sportsmanship award and therefore the very best one to win! Hooray! They ended up 2nd place overall.
Also, while I was out there watching his class, this butterfly sat on my head for a solid 2 minutes. Pretty cool!
