More Easter fun

April 23, 2014

On Easter morning we had a bundle of bedheads all excited to head upstairs and see what the bunny brought!

But, we had to make them first take a pic on the stairs where Spencer tried to swipe Katie’s glasses!

We did end up with a cute one though…

We made it upstairs to find out that the Easter Bunny did indeed find us in the mountains!  Hooray!  He left quite a “super” group of gifts for the boys too – a Superman tshirt, some Superhero pi’s, some Superman and Batman books and even a reversible Superman/Batman cape! (rumor has it that the Bunny emailed GJ and Susu to get a little help in making the SUPER capes!).  The boys loved it all!

And we all loved the sunshine that finally decided to come out on Easter day!  Hooray!  We went outside and let everyone run some energy out!

After a good meal and plenty of good conversation, Robert and I loaded up our little superheroes and headed back to Birmingham.

As much fun as we had in the mountains, it was good to be home.  Robert and I tucked out tired selves into bed that night knowing  we were being safely guarded by two snoring superheroes…

Hope you all had a Happy Easter!

The boys

March 11, 2014

(Non)interesting things of late….

I finally bought a waffle maker.  Always wanted one, never had one.  I saw one on sale on Gilt and splurged $30 for a Cuisinart waffle maker.  I love it…even if Maxwell did ask for his normal “round waffles” when I tried to serve him one at breakfast.  He’ll never leggo his Eggo I guess!  I stayed up too late the past 2 nights watching True Detective.  Have you seen it?  We watched it on On Demand so crammed all 8 episodes into only a few days.  Awesome, awesome show but I’m tired!  and feeling like I need a shower after watching all the chain smoking on that show!  This daylight savings is throwing me off too – it’s still so bright out when it’s time to put the boys to bed.  I don’t like the dark mornings when I go to workout, but I sure do like the time to play outside after naps.

Today – some pics of my boys from a few weeks ago when Robert and Maxwell went to church.

Maxwell’s so excited about having his picture taken! (ha!)…

But we got a good one anyway!

But, throw little brother into the mix and, well…it’s never gonna work…

But his face in this one sure does make me laugh!

Make it a great day!

Weekend!

March 10, 2014

Little rewind back to Thursday night when Robert and Maxwell got to go to “Dinner with Dad” up at school!

dinner w dad

Maxwell got to show Robert around his classroom and eat some dinner with friends.  Fun!  Not surprised on who he ended up eating with…

Miss Lila herself!  🙂

Friday night was pretty crazy with a trip to the Mexaurant and the HD!

Saturday, I had to go to a baby shower…

So Robert took the boys to run out some energy.

By the time I got home, Robert had proved he was the most fun ever by getting out the bounce house!  We spent the rest of the weekend jumping for joy about how beautiful the weather was!

We even had our buddy, Jack, over to jump too!  It was such a great weekend, it was practically electrifying!

Thankful for these relaxing weekends at home!

See you tomorrow!

Nashville

February 4, 2014

As I mentioned yesterday, I spent the weekend in Nashville with 3 of my longest friends…my “forever friends”.  I’ve known one since preschool, one since kindergarten and one since 7th grade.  We had the BEST time laughing, eating, laughing, shopping, and laughing.  🙂  I also got to see my great college friend that lives in Nashville while we were there.  It was such a fun weekend with besties from all parts of life!  I also have to say that Nashville is an AWESOME city.  It was fun when I went to school there but it’s a completely different place now.  So cosmopolitan and cultural but still maintains that down home feel.  We had some of the best meals of my life and the whole city is such a hot spot of all things cool.  Go Nash-vegas!  If you’re planning a trip, do whatever you can to eat dinner at Rolf and Daughters. Ahhh-mazing.  And go check out Pinewood Social.  Great food and such a neat concept.  We stayed at the brand new Omni (which was packed because there were auditions for The Voice next door!) and it was super nice and just fantastic all around.

The best part of the trip though was just getting to spend time with these girls…

By the way, as much as I love my new clutch and new Frye boots, this was my favorite purchase of the weekend!

I came home with two for two very sweet boys.  🙂

Meanwhile, back in the Ham, Robert was being the best dad ever and keeping the boys entertained with the swings, doughnuts, a trip to HD and even building a fort!

Go Dad!

As much fun as I had on my weekend away, the best part was definitely coming home…

Love my girls and love my boys!
