What a great weekend! What all went down? Well…
Samantha took her first “real bath”…

and looked really, really cute…

and did a little tummy time for the first time!

Also love this pic in black and white that I put on IG…

We had a visit from Lulu and Granddaddy to bring Valentine surprises…

We played tiger…

We opened more Valentine goodies – Batman and TMNJ books!

We played in the playroom (well, the boys did while I got to escape the house ALONE and go to to Target! Best Valentine’s gift ever!)…

We went out to a Valentine lunch where Samantha did her arm exercises in her sleep…

What up?

We enjoyed the beautiful weather in the backyard…

The boys went to church…

and we just had a great weekend all around! Hope you did too! See you tomorrow!
Good news – I’m back up and running! I must have just had a little 24 hour bug because after a day of rest and a good night’s sleep, I’m back to 100%. So, let’s get on with it because we’ve got lots to do! First up – the move! Whoa…moving is no joke! On Thursday of last week, we had our GREAT movers from New Latitudes come and pack up the house. In all my previous moves, I’ve packed myself…but I’ve also never moved 8 months pregnant with 2 toddlers! Let me say, letting the movers pack us was worth every. single. penny. They were there from 8:30am to about 7:30pm with basically no breaks. A full day! The boys loved checking out all the boxes that night!

On Friday morning, the boys got ready to head out with Mrs. Susan while Robert and I got ready to move. I had to take a little family picture on the last morning at our old house though…

Who’s excited about the new house! woohoo!

GJ and I manned the old house most of the day while Robert dealt with the remaining workers at the new house. Oh yes, we had all kinds of workers still in there up until the very last minute! But, they got all of the important stuff done just in time so that was great. A few glimpses of some empty rooms before all of our boxes came in…

and a sneak peek of the bathrooms we re-did…

They were loading up the trucks at the old house from about 8:30 to 3:00 and then finally made it to the new house to unload it all!

The boys quickly found their place amongst all the boxes…

Spencer learned to master the stairs (though he still prefers a hand to hold when coming down!)…

and everyone enjoyed a first meal in the new house!

By the end of the day, we were all so exhausted that we all slept great – boys included! Everyone liked their new rooms! Hooray! The next morning, Susan nicely took the boys to see a Christmas play and, while they were gone, I got the boys rooms all fixed up. Maxwell’s room…

and Spencer’s…

I’d say he likes it! 🙂

We also managed to get the kitchen somewhat organized…

We still have LOTS to do – like get an actual working dishwasher and dryer – but we’re in and we’re happy to be here! Now if we could just get that Christmas tree decorated….
Happy Monday! Hope everyone is feeling great (and not too stuffed!) after a long holiday weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and had a great Thanksgiving day down in Montgomery. Jenny nicely offered to host and cooked up a big feast but I did take the desserts. I made a pumpkin pie (which I love but Robert thinks is nothing short of a waste of a pie) and a pecan pie. Both were really good (if I do say so myself!) thanks in part to my kitchen helper…

For my memory, I branched out from my mom’s tried and true shortening pie crust recipe and went with an all butter crust from Smitten Kitchen. Turned out great!
That morning, I actually got to pick out Maxwell’s clothes and had him looking cute and dressed just like Spencey!

Thanksgiving twinkies! 🙂
We got down to Montgomery around noon and Ronnie had ordered this cardboard rocket ship for the kids to color all day – total genius move.

The boys especially loved it! We had a fun day all around watching Ronnie fry the turkey…

feeding the kids an early “feast” of their own…

and then letting them have one of the turkey cookies I made along with the pies! gobble gobble!

It was a beautiful (albeit chilly!) day and the cousins had a blast running around outside on the golf course.

In fact, we all enjoyed the sunshine that day!

The meal was fantastic (thank you Jenny!)…

and we enjoyed the outdoors just as much after the sun went down…especially with the fun(ny) head lamps and glow sticks for the kids!

Let me tell you, you haven’t laughed until you’ve seen Spencer running around with a headlamp on! ha!
Overall, it was a perfect day that made me realize how thankful I am for my entire extended family and definitely for this guy…

and these little turkeys!

Happy Thanksgiving!
