The Pool

June 2, 2011

In Florida last weekend we took Maxwell swimming for the first time.  He wasn’t quite so sure about it at first but was a big fan by the end of the weekend.  Here’s some pics from his first dip in the pool!

Ready to swim…

So excited he was dancing…

Dad had to take his hat off first though….

And put it on his own head!  Silly Dad!

We had to ease our way into the pool because it was a liiiiitle chilly!

Finally…swimming!

Robert got in with us too and we had fun taking him all over the pool both in and out of the floaty.  I think he’s going to be a little swimmer!!

Getting all dried off…

Stay tuned for beach pics and more pool fun!

Monday, Monday

May 23, 2011

Good morning everyone!  or afternoon or evening….whenever you’re stopping by.  Hope you all had a great weekend.  While ours was HOT it was also nice.  On Saturday morning we headed down to the Pepper Place Farmer’s Market…

There were lots of great fruits and veggies around but we particularly liked this booth…the Pie Lady!

We didn’t come home with any squash or zucchini, but we did come home with a red velvet whoopie pie!  🙂

Maxwell loved checking out all the people…

and I loved my breakfast burrito…

FYI – that Starbucks came from the Crestline Starbucks which closed this weekend…sad, sad day.  I go to that Starbucks pretty much every day and on the weekends we have a little routine of getting up, throwing Maxwell in the stroller in his pj’s and walking the few short blocks to get our Starbucks.  I love that routine.  Guess we’ll have to find a new weekend tradition.

I digress…back to the Farmer’s Market – it was a fun morning and I think Maxwell liked it!

The rest of the weekend we tried to get Maxwell to crawl but no luck yet….he can rock back and forth on his knees though!

We practiced standing up…

and we went to the park…with full sun coverage hat of course!

The weekend was great but, as always, too short.  Can’t wait for the holiday weekend coming up!

A hat, Nanner and Dad

May 19, 2011

Just a boy in a hat with a monkey…

Then a little smile…

and a little giggle…

What’s making him laugh?  His dad being silly of course!

We sure do love how Dad makes us laugh!

We love Dad!

Buddy the Puppy

May 10, 2011

Warning – this post contains pictures of a puppy playing with a baby.  The cuteness might be too much…enter at your own risk.

Our neighbor just got a new goldendoodle puppy, Buddy.

Last weekend he brought Buddy over to meet my little buddy.  Maxwell was pretty intrigued by this furry little ball…

But then those sharp puppy teeth got a hold of Maxwell’s little fingers…

and he didn’t like it one bit!

So, we backed off for a minute and let them check each other out from a distance…

Then Buddy promised he wouldn’t bite Maxwell again and they quickly became best buds!

I’m so glad Maxwell has such a cute dog living next door because if you know me, you know he’s not going to get a cute dog of his own!  🙂

Weekend Recap

May 9, 2011

What a GREAT weekend!  Our little family of 3 had so much fun together.  I documented most of it on my iphone so here we go…

First, on Friday, Susan wanted to get Maxwell ready for the Kentucky Derby so she got him all dressed up…maybe he’s got a career as a jockey someday?

Maxwell was a little distraught when I told him that I didn’t think elephants were allowed in the race!

He perked up again when he got to meet our neighbor’s new goldendoodle puppy Friday evening though.  Pictures coming tomorrow and, man oh man, get ready for adorable!  On Saturday we ran all sorts of errands, including a trip to Old Navy.  While there, Robert spotted this cute little straw fedora and popped it on Maxwell’s head…

We could not stop laughing!  Given that it was Derby Day and he looked ridiculously cute in it, we of course went home with it!

Maxwell wore it the rest of the day and, surprisingly, never pulled it off his head!  Later, when he was done with dinner, he even asked for the hat again!

Even though it wasn’t Mother’s Day quite yet, Robert did let me pick the movie Saturday night – Black Swan.  Good but very weird and I’m really not sure about the ending.  Have you seen it?  hmmm….

Sunday was Mother’s Day!!  My first with my sweet baby boy.  He greeted me that morning with a huge smile and an awesome case of bed head…

It doesn’t get much better than that…or so I thought!  I must have been very good these past 8 months because Maxwell and Robert spoiled me rotten!  Robert made me pancakes and Maxwell got me flowers.  That would have been enough but that was just the beginning!  Maxwell gave me the best book – Dr. Seuss “Are You My Mother?”  Can’t wait to read it to him over and over again!  He also got me a gift certificate to go spray tan as much as I want this summer!  woohoo!  🙂  Robert then gave me an awesome e-recipe book – kind of like a kindle for the kitchen.  Awesome!!  It didn’t even end there – Robert also picked out and bought an outfit for Maxwell all on his own!  Look how cute…

I love the green shorts!  the back is the best part…

too cute!  We then had a fun afternoon doing things around the house and – surprise surprise! – working in the yard.  We seem to work in the yard every single weekend.  We went to the grocery store later today and Maxwell once again asked to wear his new hat…

He’s just too much.  I am such a lucky momma and can’t believe I get to spend every day with this sweet, sweet little boy!!

I hope all you mommas out there had a great weekend too!!

Would love to hear from you! 2 Comments
