Morning Routine

July 19, 2012

I like to document how life is around here these days because I know it’s all going to change so fast. Our little morning routine right now is one of those that I know will be gone before I know it.

When Maxwell gets up we always give him some juice and a cup of dry cereal – right now it’s Quaker Oatmeal Squares – that he snacks on until we (or Susan) give him his real breakfast about half an hour later. Robert is always up, ready for work, eating a bowl of cereal and, most mornings, Maxwell wants to get up in the chair next to him and hang out….and get some spoonfuls of DaDa’s cereal!

Just watchin’ ESPN…

Eatin’ cereal…

and making crazy eyes! 🙂

What a way to start the day!

Friday Funny – Dada’s Juice

July 13, 2012

On most nights, Maxwell likes to look through this Sesame Street lift-and-find book.  On the first page, there is a whole house scene that includes a refrigerator full of bottles.  I’m assuming they’re root beer but they definitely look like beer bottles.  Every night Maxwell opens the little refrigerator door in the book and proudly exclaims, “Dada’s juice!”

HA!!  I think that one Corona Robert has every now and then is getting noticed!!  🙂  Or maybe he’s just got a great memory and remembers this…

May 2011

Hope you all have a great weekend and get to pop open a cold bottle of juice!

Splish splash

July 12, 2012

The one time I got my camera out down in Naples was the first day to get some pics of Maxwell in the pool.  He loved it…although for the rest of the week he definitely preferred the “yaya pool” aka the baby pool aka the hot tub!  I guess it was just more his size!

I love this one…and these two boys.  I have so many pictures of them like this just walking completely in step with each other.  Spittin’ image!

Have a great day!

More vacay

July 11, 2012

Continuing on with the boring family vacation iphone photos…

Friday morning I went with Robert to play golf.  He played while I mastered my cart driving skills and played Words on my iphone.  I hadn’t planned on going with him so didn’t pack a collared shirt that fit…not that I even have one…so I wore one of Robert’s Lacoste shirts that had ample room for my growing belly.  Oh yea, stylin’…

It was a great morning with enough breeze to not make things miserably hot…at least for the cart driver!  I’m glad Robert got the chance to play!

That afternoon brought another bike ride.  Happiness all around!

The next morning while Robert went to the doc in the box to get some medicine for his sinus infection, my mom and I pulled out this awesome battery powered mini Ferrari that she and my dad bought in the last year.  I wasn’t sure if Maxwell was really big enough to actually drive it but…drive it he did!  He would push his little foot down on that accelerator and GO!  He wasn’t the best steerer and we had to come to his rescue more than a few times but, if we could just keep the wheel turned he would make one giant circle…just like going around a racetrack!

Maxwell Andretti!  with his VERY serious race face on!

Two thumbs up!

We got a big laugh out it all and he thought it was pretty awesome!

Later that morning we set up the bouncy house…inside!  SO much nicer than having to be outside in the heat and humidity!  Maxwell obviously LOVED every second of it and bounced bounced bounced.

Robert and I even got in on a little of the fun!

After nap, it was raining so we went for a little treat.  Maxwell had to taste my mint chocolate chip…

and Robert’s cookie dough…

before ultimately deciding that he did indeed like the cookies and cream I had gotten for him.  Yummy and messy!

Sunday morning brought more swimming, biking and bouncing and by the time we were all packed up and ready to head to the airport, Maxwell looked like this…

He did ok on the flight home.  We’re definitely better morning travelers than afternoon travelers.  Missing that nap is just killer on him.  But, we made it home and were so glad that we got to have SUCH a fun visit with GJ and Daddo!  Wish we could do it every week!!

and just to end on a laugh…here’s one more of us in the awesome hats I mentioned yesterday!  🙂

ha!  See you tomorrow!

Father’s Day

June 26, 2012

I’m finally getting up all the Father’s Day pictures from two weekends ago.  As I mentioned, we had Robert’s family in town for lunch and had a great time. There was a BBQ feast with Golden Rule BBQ and lots of homemade sides – cole slaw, beans, corn salad (very similar to this but I cook my onions and tomatoes) – and these strawberry shortcake cookies for dessert.  Yum!

Maxwell obviously loved all the attention and both he and Nanner got to wear some of Lulu’s jewelry for a while!

The weather was beautiful and the cousins had a blast playing outside with some bubbles and sidewalk chalk and whatever other toys were around.  I think everyone enjoyed being outside that day thanks to the fans on our deck!  I’m just going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking…

and, finally, proof that I was there too!

A great way to celebrate Father’s Day!
