Weekend

November 10, 2014

Is it Friday yet? Oh wait, happy Monday! Yep, our weekend was busy busy busy. I think the next few weeks are going to be busy busy busy too! We’re in full swing on all of the new house renovations and it’s not slowing down until we move in. Here’s how our weekend went down…

GJ was here at the end of last week because she and I met with a decorator for a few hours and it was great. We walked away with some really good ideas and PAINT COLORS! hooray! I had a good idea of what I wanted – and had the samples to check out – but the decorator helped us hone in on what will look really good. I can’t wait to see it all transformed.

On Saturday, we picked up some breakfast and headed over to the new house to check things out. We were pleased to see the painters over there!  Gotta meet that deadline!

The painters were pleased to see all the AL hats on my boys’ heads! Roll Tide!

Later that morning, we headed out to Lowe’s to check out fridges.  The boys had no problems entertaining themselves there!

The day wasn’t all work though, we managed to find time for a little play…

and to cheer Alabama on to a (very stressful!) victory over LSU!

Sunday it was breakfast…

and back to the house. I’m so glad to have such good helpers…

and it doesn’t hurt that they’re pretty cute too!  🙂

The boys then took their dimples to Sunday school…

and we all managed to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL fall weather we’re having.  So thankful for that!

It was a busy but great weekend.  Now I’ve got to get back to picking hardware, researching door knobs, finding wallpaper….it’s fun!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

My birthday!

October 16, 2014

I turned 36 last week…ugh. But, I had a GREAT birthday so I’m not wallowing in pity over my old age. I heard from lots of sweet friends, had plenty of cupcakes, received some nice gifts, and got to love on these sweet boys.

birthday

In addition to all of that, know what made my 36th so GREAT? Well, we bought a house that day! Yep, we made an offer on an awesome house on my birthday and got through all of the negotiations and inspections this week. Unlike last time, this is really happening and I’m so excited I could stick my face in a cupcake!

This sign is up in our yard and we’re gearing up for a VERY busy few months…

for sale

I mean, I might be legit crazy because no sane person would sell her house, move into a new house and have a baby all within a non-stressful 3 month holiday period, right? Oh well…it’ll get done!  Here’s to 36 and to new adventures!

Movin’ on over!

June 9, 2014

We kind of had an exciting couple of days around here. In the 36 hours that passed between Wednesday night and Friday at noon, we bought a house!  Yep, we bought a house. No, we weren’t really looking. Yes, we do love our current house. But this new one just had some things we simply couldn’t pass up.  Robert saw it on the MLS on Wednesday night and we thought it looked interesting (we’re always checking out local real estate – kind of a hobby to stay informed). I emailed the agent to see if I could see it and was inside the house at 9:00 Thursday morning. I called Robert and told him he needed to get over to see it too so we met the agent back over there at 11:30.  There was another offer on the table that they needed to respond to asap, so we had to move fast if we wanted it.  By 9:00 Thursday night, we made an offer and after one round of negotiation, the deal was done by noon on Friday and the house is ours (pending inspection, of course!)

We did not see this coming but here’s what the house provides – SPACE! 4 bedrooms, two offices, a playroom and a garage with attached mudroom. It’s almost brand new – completely rebuilt in 2012 so everything is updated. It’s 100% move in ready on the inside. The biggest draw to it is that it’s on a cul-de-sac with tons of families. It turns out that I even know the girl living next door! She went to college with me and has 3 kids so she gave me the full scoop on the street and it’s sounds like a GREAT place to ride bikes, play basketball and just be a kid.  Hooray!

Needless to say, we are SUPER excited about it…

The one downside to the house is the yard…and that is the one thing I’m going to miss about our current house (well, the yard and the location). We have a fantastic backyard here with so much room to run…but the flip side is that we live on a busy street so have no place for the kids to ride bikes, etc. The new house has great space to ride bikes, but does not have a great backyard…yet!  I have no doubt that Robert and I will get it fixed up and looking great!

Overall we really feel like we hit a hole in one!  🙂

(ps – check out the tongue! ha!)

Our summer just got a whole lot busier!
