Weekend
We had a jam packed weekend with all sorts of fun stuff! Just a few highlights with lots more to come…
On Friday Robert and I drove down to Montgomery for a memorial service for his friend Phillip that passed away. Robert worked with the school over the past year to develop a great sitting area next to the senior lounge at their school. It’s a great space and a wonderful tribute to his friend. Several from their graduating class came and it was a fun reunion for them all.
On Saturday night I got to go to a birthday dinner for my friend Mary. It was a very fun night out with friends!
Sunday I got to hang with the silly girls…
That was just the tip of the iceberg of all the weekend fun. More to come!

Adventure
While I was home watching Spencer show off at football and Samantha show off at tumbling, Robert and Maxwell were rafting down the Chattahoochee! Robert very nicely agreed to go on the Scout campout with this crew (plus a few others not pictured)…
They said the rafting was fun but too short. Next time they should do the more adventorous route.
They then camped out with only a few shenanigans from the boys.
The real adventure came on the drive home. Robert was about 2 hours from Birmingham driving GJ’s Escalade – the Escalade that got a new battery and alternator just about a month ago – and the power steering went out, then the AC failed, then all the electronics went black. Not good at all. Robert pulled over and they managed to squeeze all of the boys into the cars of the other two dads on the trip. Robert then got to sit on the side of the road for two hours waiting for the wrecker to get there from Birmingham. He was very glad to see Courtney pull up in his pink wrecker!!
Robert then got to make a new friend in Courtney on their two hour drive back to Birmingham. ha! I met him at the Cadillac dealership where we dumped the car for them to deal with. Always an adventure!! I’m so thankful for Robert’s good nature and calm demeanor – both on the campout and on the trip home! We’re so lucky to have him.
