Happy Monday!
This trio is happy to have the day off of school!
We have an e-Day for school today but how about some pics from daily school life…
A very rare glimpse inside the JH thanks to a friend of a friend that was subbing!
Lunchtime cuties!
Daily life is where the fun is! Make it a great weekend!
On top of the tonsillectomy this week, we’ve had more injuries than I care to deal with recently! About two weeks ago, Maxwell was covering 2nd base when the runner slid into the base and took him out at the knee. Ouch. He was really hurt and couldn’t walk. It happened on a Saturday and I got him into Andrews on Monday afternoon. He got x-rays and checked out by Dr. Ortega and thankfully it was just a deep contusion – a bone bruise.
It’s still giving him some pain but so thankful there were no ligaments damaged!
Then last weekend, Spencer was just shooting hoops during halftime of the 5th grade rec game and somehow came down wrong, fell, and hit his head on the court. He ended up majorly tweaking his neck and literally could not hold it straight. After a lot of back and forth, I ultimately took him to the ER at Children’s to get checked out.
They did X-rays and thankfully it was just a muscle issue. They sent us home with some valium and peace of mind! He’s still a bit crooked but recovering.
I’d like an injury free week please!
Another fun rec season of basketball has come and gone! All three played and all three had fun and none of the three won very much! ha!
Samantha’s team was the Blue Sparks and they sure brought hustle and heart to each game. Samantha is a great little, aggressive basketball player. She may not have the height, but she has the hustle and would get in there and fight for the ball. She consistently scored a basket or a free throw each game. I was really proud of her this year because she really didn’t know anyone on her team but still made the very best of it and loved playing!
Gotta love 3rd grade – look at the height difference between Samantha and 23!
It’s the most fun when your teachers come to your game!
Go Blue Sparks!
Spencer’s team was Texas with Coach Sleeper and crackerjack assistant Coach Brown! They played hard but kinda had a rough season – I think they lost 4 games but either 1 or 2 points! They played great games but ultimately the shots didn’t go their way too many times. Spencer balled out and was a great leader on his team. I was really proud of him and the way he handled himself all season. He’s a good sport and a good kid. Texas really ended up peaking at the right time though. They made an impressive run in the playoffs all the way to the Final Four!! Go Texas!!
Go Texas! Hook ’em!
Maxwell played 7th grade rec basketball and it’s pretty fun – the teams are coached by 9th graders and there’s basically no practices and plenty of street ball antics. Maxwell’s team was the orange Traffic Cones – they had style but not much chance at winning! ha! Their “A” player was gone for a majority of the games playing golf. Maxwell stepped up and really lead the team pretty well but they didn’t pull off the win too often. Maxwell then ended up getting hurt and wasn’t able to play in their final playoff game so the Cones really didn’t stand a chance. It was still a fun season though!
Go Traffic Cones!
Fun rec basketball season all around!
We made it to Friday! Woohoo! Recent pics…
Also, Maxwell got Invisalign last month!
Make it a great weekend!
