Maxwell loves to get into this corner cabinet where I keep lots of mixing bowls and all of his little dishes. This thing gets emptied a lot! He especially loves to take some cereal and move it from bowl to bowl. Doesn’t bother me – as long as it keeps him happy and occupied for a bit! 🙂
ps – this was the same day he was having his good hair day! can’t you tell?!
Maxwell loves to play with tape and any kind of “sticky”. One of his coloring books has a page of stickers and he had so much fun the other day decorating himself…

It’s almost fall. It’s time for school. What does that mean? New shoes! Like last year, I took Maxwell up to Sike’s to get him some new kicks for school. I went in thinking I was going to get him the navy New Balance…
but we walked out with the grey ones just like last year.
Nice face, huh? He was wanting me to peel the back off of his sticker instead of take his picture!
I do think the navy will look cute with long pants so, now that I know what size he is (6.5 wide), I’ve already gone on Zappos and ordered him a few different pairs of navy and red shoes to try on at home! A boy needs options, right?! 🙂 I really wanted him to be able to get some red Keds but they just aren’t wide enough. Even the 6.5 wide was too narrow for his fat little foot!

Where has my baby gone?! There’s something about those big shoes and his long legs that make him look so old in that last picture. I miss that baby but sure do love this little big boy!!
Happy Monday! It was just me and Maxwell holding down the home front this weekend as Robert had to go out of town on a work retreat to North Carolina. Lucky duck! Cool mountain air, golfing, boating, steaks…it’s rough being Robert sometimes! I didn’t mind though because I got to stay home with my best buddy and had grand plans for a really fun weekend. Unfortunately we had two things that tried hard to spoil our fun – puke and rain. Luckily the puking (Maxwell, not me) didn’t stick around past Friday but the rain stuck around all weekend long. Even though it was pretty dreary outside, I tried not to let it keep us cooped inside the whole weekend.
On Sunday morning, despite the drizzle, Maxwell and I went and had a little picnic at Overton Park and then played on the playground.
He loved the see-saw, just like last time. and, yes, I was on the other end with my camera in tow! talent!
Then, for whatever reason, Maxwell started shaking his head back and forth really fast over and over. He was cracking up and it was so funny to see his hair just swinging all over the place!

Everything was pretty wet but I had taken a beach towel to dry everything off. A little rain didn’t stop us!
Even though it was pretty tiring playing single mom all weekend, I’m glad I got some good one on one time with Maxwell before #2 gets here! Not much longer now!
Finally, happy birthday to Maxwell’s Aunt Jen yesterday! hope it was a great one!
My mother-in-law sent me this earlier this week and I just have to share. I don’t know about you but I’m missing the Olympics!
