More bounce house pictures from the weekend below but first, a school story.

Maxwell is in a small class this year with only 6 kids.  He does great when I drop him off – he runs right in and waves at me and says “Bye bye mama!” with a smile.  But, the past two times I dropped him off, two of the little boys in his class were NOT happy about being there.  I mean, SCREAMING crying.  When Maxwell saw them crying and all the chaos, he clung on to me and started to tear up.  Not good.  I’m going to try taking him a few minutes later because another teacher comes in at 9:10 and takes the criers out to a different room.  But, knowing that might not always happen I also had a little chat with him about what to do when other kids in his class are crying.  I told him that if they’re sad it doesn’t mean that he needs to cry too, but that he should give them a little hug and let them know it’s going to be ok.

Now, I have no idea if he actually understood what I told him BUT…  When I went to pick him up yesterday, the teacher said that earlier that morning one of the little boys really didn’t want to make his craft and was throwing a little fit.  She said that Maxwell went over to him and started showing him how to make it and then, when he was still upset, Maxwell knelt beside him and patted him on the back!!!!!  She said she was melting and, my goodness, I would have too!  My sweet, sweet boy.  I have such a great kid and I just can’t believe how much I love him!

That sweet, sweet boy deserved some bouncing fun this past weekend so we happily obliged!

First, let me just say that this past week and a half has been possibly the busiest, most stressful week and a half at work I’ve ever had in my 7 years with my firm.  I’m talking – up early to work, staying up late to work, working on the weekends.  Ugh.  For anyone that I owe phone calls to, I’m so sorry and promise to call soon.  Life has not been normal the past week.  In addition, Susan has been out of town on a much deserved vacation.  She’s back tomorrow – hooray!  We’ve all missed her!  A BIG thank you to LuLu who came up and kept Maxwell in the morning both last week on Thursday as well as yesterday.   Yesterday involved a trip to the zoo and I know Maxwell loved it judging by the 3+ hour nap he took in the afternoon!  Thank you Lulu!

On to other things – I made this my Facebook status the other day:

I never thought I would be so aware of where all the construction sites close to my house are so I can go look at “lallow tucks” several times a week. Life with boys!

It’s so true.  Whenever we’re driving or walking around, it’s always a good day for Maxwell if we can see some sort of yellow construction vehicle.  As a result, I’ve learned where in our neighborhood all the construction sites are so we can go say “hi” to the “lallow tucks”

Luckily, there seems to be a lot of construction going on around us right now so we get to see plenty of real, live “lallow tucks” and not just watch them on our Mighty Machine DVDs (which we still watch a LOT of anyway!)  🙂  Gotta love it!

 

Hey, at least he’s got good taste in shoes!  Picked my favorites right out of my closet!

ps – sorry if you couldn’t see the site yesterday.  Apparently GoDaddy got hacked and almost all of their sites were down for several hours.  What kind of mean people do that?!

Happy Monday everyone!  Well, the rain came on Saturday and washed fall right in!  The temps on Sunday were fantastic and it’s supposed to stay this way all week.  Hooray!!  We took full advantage of the weekend…

Friday my cool dude and I headed out for an adventure…

and ended up at the park – check out his new kicks!

Maxwell showed me his expert way of getting down the slide – still not quite ready to go down on his bottom!

Later that day I learned that Maxwell only likes the middle out of the chocolate Oreos.  Smart boy!

On Saturday we loaded up and took a trip to the massive Bye Bye Baby to stock up on stuff for BBB2.  I didn’t think we needed that much but we still managed to spend WAY too much money.  Babies are expensive!

Maxwell definitely had fun checking everything out…

and we found BBB2’s first car…

Ha!  No, we didn’t get it…but I was tempted for a second!  🙂

We also checked out the double strollers.  As I’ve said before, we love our single City Mini by Baby Jogger.  In the picture below, Maxwell is sitting in the 2012 version of the City Mini Double called the G2.  It’s a little bigger than the non-GT 2011 version and, honestly, just a bit too big for what we need.  So, we decided to go with the 2011 City Mini Double and were able to find it on sale on Amazon in the color we wanted (green) with free Prime shipping!  woohoo!

That afternoon, Maxwell watched football while Robert played fireman :)…

Sunday was a GORGEOUS day!  Made me so happy!  We spent lots of time at the park where Maxwell finally decided to go down the slide the right way…kinda!  He started out facing front but managed to flip around before he got the bottom.  He’s clever like that!

Maxwell then helped Robert put up a baby gate…I don’t think he realized it was going to keep him out of the upstairs though!  Safety first!

That afternoon we wound the weekend down with a little bouncing outside….

and some grilling!

Couldn’t beat the temps and the perfect weather!  A fantastic weekend!  Here’s to a great week ahead!
