Nashville
As I mentioned yesterday, I spent the weekend in Nashville with 3 of my longest friends…my “forever friends”. I’ve known one since preschool, one since kindergarten and one since 7th grade. We had the BEST time laughing, eating, laughing, shopping, and laughing. 🙂 I also got to see my great college friend that lives in Nashville while we were there. It was such a fun weekend with besties from all parts of life! I also have to say that Nashville is an AWESOME city. It was fun when I went to school there but it’s a completely different place now. So cosmopolitan and cultural but still maintains that down home feel. We had some of the best meals of my life and the whole city is such a hot spot of all things cool. Go Nash-vegas! If you’re planning a trip, do whatever you can to eat dinner at Rolf and Daughters. Ahhh-mazing. And go check out Pinewood Social. Great food and such a neat concept. We stayed at the brand new Omni (which was packed because there were auditions for The Voice next door!) and it was super nice and just fantastic all around.
The best part of the trip though was just getting to spend time with these girls…
By the way, as much as I love my new clutch and new Frye boots, this was my favorite purchase of the weekend!
I came home with two for two very sweet boys. 🙂
Meanwhile, back in the Ham, Robert was being the best dad ever and keeping the boys entertained with the swings, doughnuts, a trip to HD and even building a fort!

As much fun as I had on my weekend away, the best part was definitely coming home…

Monday
Happy Monday all! Hope you had a great weekend. I was in Nashville with my 3 best friends from forever and we had the BEST time. I sure did miss my boys though! Wish I had some good pictures to share today but Maxwell has started revolting against my camera. His latest weapon against the mom-arazzi? A puzzle…
I still manage to catch him every now and then though!

A little more snow
Today just some more pictures from our two days living in a winter wonderland…
The boys were trying really hard to build a “Frosty” but the snow was so powdery it just wouldn’t stick together…
But Maxwell and I got out there the next day and made two snowmen! success and happy boy!
The leaf hats were his idea! 🙂
When we were outside on Tuesday we saw this coming down the road…
Needless to say, we didn’t get our mail that day!
On Wednesday morning we did bundle up and venture down the road to grab coffee at Church St. which was actually open. Robert was literally skating down the road.
It was all such an adventure.
Now that we’ve had our snow fun, I’m very happy for a weekend in the 60’s! Happy Friday all!
Snow fun!
Wednesday was a true snow day. The city of Birmingham was basically shut down. It’s been a major disaster around here and I’m just so thankful that my little family was safe and warm at home. Susan finally made it home at 3:30 yesterday afternoon after leaving our house at 10:30 am on Tuesday! There are so, so many stories of people being stranded, walking home and much worse. Snow is fun but only when you’re at home! Not surprisingly, Spencer’s tube surgery was cancelled for tomorrow and will likely be next Thursday. My brother’s back surgery is still on for today though so keep him in your thoughts if you don’t mind. UPDATE – surgery went great! thank goodness!
We did get out and play in the snow and I snapped a bunch of pictures. I hope you like pictures of babies playing in the snow – because you’re about to get a lot! 🙂
It was cold and fun! Yay for snow days that only come once every few years! 🙂
