Today is the first day of Fall! My favorite season! Even though this past weekend was pretty hot again, the temps have cooled back down just a bit and it’s so nice. Perfect for a sunset swing on the porch…

Monday Monday
Happy Monday! The weekends are never long enough, are they? I have figured out one way to make them feel longer though…go out on Friday night! Robert and I went out to dinner on Friday night and that still leaves you all day Saturday AND Sunday to rest up and get things done. Unfortunately, we aren’t that well rested because we were up way too late watching a disappointing AL game on Saturday night. Oh well and still Roll Tide! Other things around here the past few days…
Hanging out the window in carpool line on Thursday (I decided we shouldn’t stick our heads out the sunroof anymore so this is the next best thing)…
Camo day on Friday (what? your Fridays aren’t themed?!)…
and, yes, that shirt does say “Always on active Doodie!” ha!
Saturday was birthday party day! Spencer got to go to Murray’s party where he bounced and bounced and bounced…
and then ate ice cream and cupcakes with Hamp and Walker!
We then left to go meet Robert and Maxwell at Wilson’s party at Off The Wall! Needless to say, both boys had a great morning and took really good naps that afternoon!
Sunday was church…Maxwell is such a big kid now. No more cutesy check pants for him. All grown up with his khakis and button-downs!
There was no soccer game on Sunday but we’ll be back out there next weekend! Here’s to a great week ahead!

It’s the birthday of the one and only awesome GJ!
She helps us in every possible way,
and even lets the boys climb on her when she comes to stay!
We love her so much and always want her here to play,
We just wish she didn’t live so far away!

Beautiful day in the hood
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood…. so we went for a scooter ride! We scooted over to the bakery to get some bread and cookies…
stopped to check out the creek…
and then scooted up to the park to play and eat those cookies!
It really was a BEAUTIFUL day and I loved getting to enjoy our neighborhood. As I’ve said before, sometimes I feel like we live in Mayberry! The only problem with Mayberry? People like to have dogs…big dogs that bark very loudly and run full force towards Maxwell and scare him TO DEATH. He was scooting along the sidewalk and these two dogs came running out barking so loud and poor Maxwell started screaming the most piercing scream and took off as fast as his little legs could take him. They startled and scared me too! Thankfully, they were stopped by their invisible fence. Maxwell was hysterical and scared and Spencer was screaming too. We made it on up to the park where we had another run-in with a little dog and Maxwell did NOT like that either. He even said to the owner “Shouldn’t he be on a leash?!” Ha! But, true. I have 100% sympathy for Maxwell because I was afraid of dogs as a kid and still am not a dog person in any way, shape or form. People always say “But this dog is so sweet. He wouldn’t hurt anyone!” That doesn’t matter. It’s a phobia just like being afraid of spiders or heights and Maxwell was definitely born with an internal fear of dogs. Needless to say, we’ll never have a pet pooch!
Regardless of the dog run-in, it was still a great afternoon…
and a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
Sunday Shower and Soccer
First, happy birthday to Uncle Keath!! Hope it’s a fantastic day in sunny Florida for you!
Second, it was a big day around here on Sunday! I drove down to Montgomery for Mary Beth’s baby shower and, thanks to a cancelled sitter, Samantha got to put on a party dress and go with me! Well, she actually ended up putting on 2 party dresses…the first one didn’t survive the ride down! 🙂
It was a fun day and Samantha and the boys can’t wait to meet their new cousin in October.
Back in Birmingham, Maxwell had his first game of the new soccer season! He’s got the best coach on the field yet again…
He’s the green team this year and combined with his new orange shorts and shoes…he’s looking SHARP! Susan went and watched the game and stood in for me as Maxwell’s main cheerleader. I’m so grateful she was there. It was a fantastic game from what I heard. Maxwell hustled and got after the ball and even scored 3 goals!! woohoo!
