It’s the second year for Gingerbread Elf to show up and he’s been pretty fun and clever! The boys love to see where he is each day and even Samantha loves to find him, point and yell “Elf!” 🙂

Holiday happenings around here….
Maxwell had his Christmas program at school last week on Wednesday and Thursday. Sadly, I had to go to San Francisco for work and had to miss it. But, I was able to go to the dress rehearsal on Tuesday and had a front row seat!
Maxwell did great. He stood perfectly still and sang his songs just like he was supposed to. No surprise there!
Thankfully Robert was Super Dad while I was gone and got to the school early to get a good seat for the main event…
He also went to Maxwell’s class Christmas party and took all 3 kids to basketball practice! A HUGE thanks to him and, of course, Mrs. Susan for keeping things running smoothly while I was gone.

Birthday party for Spencer on Saturday…

I got to go make a gingerbread house at school with Maxwell…
and love seeing him read more and more every day!

Maxwell had his first basketball game on Saturday and it was definitely entertaining! There are only 7 people on his team and only 5 showed up for the game so that meant our 5 superstars had to play the whole game. They did great and were red-cheeked by the end!
Basketball at this age is funny – they try to make it all fair and nice and the defense isn’t supposed to actually “steal” the ball. Ha! They defensive players are supposed to get on the X’s in their zone defense and stay there. They can get the ball if it comes into the box or off of a rebound. On offense, they really want one kid to dribble down and pass it off to another player who takes a shot.
The first quarter was pretty comical because the kids really didn’t know what they were doing. But, after that they figured it out a bit and had things rolling. Maxwell did great – he dribbled great, hustled after the ball, went in there to fight for rebounds and even made two baskets!! Such a baller!! 🙂
Most importantly, Maxwell had fun. After the game he asked if we could go buy a basketball and even went to the Y on Sunday with Robert to practice. I love this kid!
Their team name? The Bucks. Go Bucks Go!
The candy house – one of my favorite Christmas traditions! Having all 3 kiddos really “help” this year made it that much more fun. We were armed with plenty of candy…
which my helpers did plenty of taste-testing on, of course!
I helped spread the icing but the decorations were mostly all them…
I’d say it’s the best one yet!
I’m going to let you decide who did which side! 🙂
