Just like riding a bike…

May 17, 2018

Last weekend sure was nice with beautiful weather. Robert finally got home from traveling all week and everyone was very glad to have him home…

We had a nice dinner at The Club and enjoyed the view!

Spencer had decided he wanted to learn to ride a bike and so Maxwell reluctantly agreed to learn too. On Saturday we got the bike out and raised the seat and then Maxwell sat on it and just started riding around the driveway! Just like that! He was a pro on his very first try. I guess that’s what happens when you wait until 7.5 to learn to ride!

We then went down to the parking lot to get some practice in for Spencer…

He and Robert gave it a good run…

but Spence wasn’t quite ready to take off on his own yet. I think another couple weeks on the balance bike and he’ll be cruising! While Spencer practiced, these two monkeys had fun on the playground.

After all that hard work and play, I decided we needed some ice cream!

Doesn’t get better than that on a pretty weekend!

Mother’s Day Treats

May 14, 2018

My three made all kinds of cute treats for me this Mother’s Day!

Maxwell made me the prettiest bunch of flowers ever, wrote a nice little note, and drew my portrait!

Spectators

May 9, 2018

Of course, I have to recognize the very best spectators of the baseball season! Spencer and Samantha were troopers going to all of Maxwell’s games and, often, practices too. Maxwell was a good helper at all of Spencer’s games.

They were there in good weather…

and bad!

Thankfully they had some friends to play with at many of the games.

Spencer loved to go “climb the mountain” at Maxwell’s games and did that just about every week. He rarely actually watched Maxwell’s game! Samantha wanted to climb the  mountain as well but after I had to go get her off the mountain once, I told her you had to be 5 years old to climb the mountain from now on! ha! After that she tended to hang with me in the stands and play with any toys that she brought.

baseball

Of course, I think they mostly liked going to Maxwell’s games because they knew they’d get an Icee! Whatever it takes!

As crazy as it was, I’m going to miss these days at the ball park this summer!

Pretty sure they’re just going to miss the Icees!  🙂

Go Pirates!

May 7, 2018

What a FUN baseball season we had this year! The Pirates might not have been on the winning side too often but I wouldn’t trade anything about this season. Maxwell improved leaps and bounds and truly became a ball player. He went from striking out all the time to being the 4th batter in the lineup! From playing outfield every game to playing first base! Most importantly, he LOVED it. He couldn’t wait to get to practice, was (and still is!) constantly asking to go hit and throw on days when there was no practice, and was always the first to arrive for games ready to get warmed up to play. He was dedicated and committed! I loved going to watch him play and was usually the loudest mom in the stands – I just can’t help it!

I also have to commend Robert too – he was a huge help to the team and pretty much had himself an assistant coach job by the end of the season! He was always willing to take Maxwell to hit and throw and that made the biggest difference in Maxwell’s improvement.

I can’t say enough good things about his coach – he taught them not only about baseball but about sportsmanship. He encouraged them and kept it fun.

I took my camera to one of the final games and got some great shots.
