It’s the last full week of summer. Say it ain’t so!! We’ve had the very best summer with lots of time with friends and we’re so sad to see it end.

Sweet, sweet summertime!

It’s the last full week of summer. Say it ain’t so!! We’ve had the very best summer with lots of time with friends and we’re so sad to see it end.

Sweet, sweet summertime!
We had the very best GJ in the world in Birmingham for the past two weeks. We loved every second of having her here! She kept the kids while Robert and I went on a fun trip and they didn’t miss us one bit. Well, Samantha might have missed me a little bit but GJ handled my little drama queen with no issues! The kids spent every night at her house even after we got back. They obviously love having her around as much as I do! She might have even earned herself a new title while in town, Assistant to the President of the PTO! A very prestigious title indeed!!
She headed back to Florida yesterday and we’re already ready for her to come back! The President needs her right hand lady!

Thanks for everything GJ. What would we do without you?!
Maxwell sure does love living that lake life!

Thankfully he’s got a BFF with a lake house who is generous with the invitations!

Not a care in the world!
Like I said yesterday, we did all of our favorite things in Naples…and plenty of adventures that the kids talked us into! Robert took Spencer and Samantha on the jet ski…

Maxwell talked us into braving the heat for mini golf.

He and Robert both got a hole in one!

I’m not sure what happened here but GJ looks pretty pleased!

The kids knew hot to cool off afterward!

We also played tennis together for the first time down there. It ended about how I thought it would…

ha! The rackets were old and the grips were disintegrating and Samantha’s turned her hands black! Combine that with a good ball to the face by Robert and she was done! But, Maxwell and I played again another day and had a lot of fun and then I took all 3 kids back out on our last day and it was an overall success!

Of course we shot fireworks on the 4th…

and made CCCs!

We also took on another sand dollar project just liked we did in 2020…

and saw lots of movies – Maverick, the Minions, and Lightyear! The kids drank a lot of Roy Rogers on the beach…

and they all tried – and liked! – calamari!

Of course, the only question is…

when are we going back?!
The week of July 4th we took a trip down to Naples for some fun and sun! This motley crew was happy to be there!

It was our first time down there without Daddo and…it was hard. It just didn’t seem right. But, Naples was his favorite place and we’re so glad he introduced it to us so it could become our favorite place too. We loved doing our usual favorite things like going to the beach, the movies, playing mini golf, making cookies….can’t beat it. We also tried some new restaurants, The Bay House and The Dock, and we went to eat at Swan River. Overall a great stay!

We love Naples!
